    Under the hood, along with a faintly audible cooling fan, is an AMD Athlon X2 L335 processor -- a 1.6GHz dual-core chip with dual 256K Level 2 caches -- joined by 2GB of DDR2 memory; an ATI Radeon HD 3200 graphics controller that borrows 128MB of system RAM; and a 320GB Seagate hard disk. (As with other netbooks and ultraportables, there is no optical drive.) That adds up to performance that, while not desktop-class dazzling, is noticeably perkier than most netbooks'. Read more

    I am planning on buying a 9 cell battery and purchaced a DC power attachment that plugs into a cigarette lighter. With these I should be able to run this computer for a long weekend. Read more

    • I have a cabin with limited power (from solar/battery) and I wanted a netbook to take there so I could do some development work on the weekend, listen to music an mayb...
    • I have seen other complaints that the screen doesn't tilt back far enough and I agree with this.

Features

The Wind 12 U230 is a netbook that features 12.1" 16:9 ratio display with LED power-saving backlight technology which provides users with optimized color fullness and brightness. The display also enables lower usage of power, offering users a longer operating time. Designed with “Color Film Print Technology” from MSI one its cover as well as the palm rest area, the netbook measures smaller than an A4 magazine, enabling portability and computing capability while on the go. The netbook also features MSI Ergonomics De-Stress (EDS) Keyboard with a surface area that is 51% larger, optimizing natural finger and wrist movement to reduce strain and allows users to work for hours. Other features on the netbook include HDMI Digital Terminal Interface with up to 5GB of transmitting bandwidth; ability to view high definition content from the netbook on an LCD TV or other multimedia devices (1080i compliance) via the HDMI port, and AMD Athlon™ Neo X2 processor which is designed to deliver PC performance for browsing the internet, reading or sending email, running applications, watching videos, and playing games.
