Lightweight, compact, and extremely stylish, the Asus Eee PC 1008HA Seashell offers MacBook Air-style portability and panache at a netbook price. Read more
The Seashell draws looks from people who don’t even know what a netbook is. The Seashell proves that netbooks don’t just have to be cheap, they can be lust worthy, too. Asus may have copped the original design from Apple, but it also paid close attention to execution while translating it to netbook form, and the final product makes a likeable spinoff. Those who find themselves smitten with its dainty good looks won’t mind paying $429 for the super-slim design,... Read more
Asus 1008HA Seashell review summary Most netbooks from Asus look good but are made to be more practical than fancy. Thus, some design elements might not be just as perfect as you’d want them or the actua... Read more
The Asus Eee PC 1008HA doesn't have the new Intel Pinetrail platform with enhanced graphics and processor speed, but that doesn't mean it isn't a good buy. You'll be able to find the 1008HA Seashell at Amazon.com for around $400. We expect the price to drop as newer models are released. Read more
When the ASUS Eee PC 1008HA Seashell first launched, it impressed us with its thin design and above-average performance. Now updated with Windows 7 Home Premium, a larger 320GB hard drive, twice the RAM, and a suite of ASUS-branded extras, the 1008HA is still a svelte and stylish netbook. However, a dip in endurance—plus an increase in price to $479—may have consumers either opting to pick up the Windows XP version (while they can still find it) or paying just a bit... Read more
The Asus 1008 HA is ultraportable, nicely designed and does what you expect from a netbook. It makes my older Asus 1002 HA look big. I have gotten the white version of it, since I didn't want fingerprints to be seen on the surface. The only downside of this product is that it is difficult to upgrade, in fact you may lose your warranty if you try to do it yourself. Read more
I got this netbook for my daughter to use in school. It's been a great success. It's small enough for her to easily take to school in her purse and the battery life gets her through the day, most days. (I would have liked a little longer battery life, but this one does the job MOST of the time.) Read more
This is a wonderful netbook. I bought this cause I needed to do work when I am stuck at school and didn't want to drive back home waste gas. It does everything I need it to: surf the web, write documents, email, and it's portable. I use this laptop as a means to do work at school since I didn't want to buy a regular laptop. I already have a desktop at home, so I use this netbook as a means of doing SMALL AMOUNTS of works while at school. Because it's a netbook I know not... Read more or see product
This is a very prudent purchase if you're looking for something super tiny to take with you for trips of any flavor. I'd recommend going to 2GB of RAM as this significantly improves the capabilities of this netbook. I'd also recommend getting yourself a SD Memory module for use with this beastie in order to keep your files in the unlikely event that something happens, you'll not be high and dry. The keyboard is just a little bit tiny (cramped) for my medium-sized hands,... Read more
