The Asus Eee PC 1001HA is a netbook laptop that hails from Asus’ Seashell HA series. It is the third addition after its predecessors, the Asus Eee PC 1008HA and the Asus Eee PC 1005HA, all of which sport a clamshell design that resembles a seashell as it is thicker from behind and gets thinner in front. Besides looking like a seashell, the Asus Eee PC 1001HA also feels like one as well as it incorporates a wavy design on its lid that creates a texture similar to that of a real seashell. It is also said to look like the Asus Eee PC 1005HA with 1 GB RAM and 160 GB of capacity on its hard disk drive and an Intel Atom 270.

The Asus Eee PC 1001HA operates on an Intel Atom N270 1.6 GHz processor and an Intel 945GSE + ICH7M chipset. It also incorporates a DDR2 SDRAM memory of 1 GB. The Asus Eee PC 1001HA comes with a hard disk capacity of 160 GB. There is also a TFT colour display screen that measures 10.1 inches diagonally with a WSVGA resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels. The Asus Eee PC 1001HA measures 26.2 cm x 17.8 cm x 3.6 cm (W x H x D) in dimension and weighs approximately 1.4 kg. In terms of built-in devices, the Asus Eee PC 1001HA incorporates Stereo speakers and a wireless LAN aerial. There is also a multi-in-1 card reader for added convenience. In terms of audio output features, the Asus Eee PC 1001HA has a sound card. As for networking features, the Asus Eee PC 1001HA has a network adapter that is compatible with Ethernet, Fast Ethernet, IEEE 802.11b, IEEE 802.11 g and IEEE 802.11n (draft).
