    All in all, the 1000H has its share of quirks, it definitely showcases an improvement in ease of use, and should open up the Eee PC lineup to a much broader subset of customers. There are certainly areas which Asus can/will improve on but the 1000H today is sleek, simple, efficient, and cheap for a fully functional Windows XP notebook. It's hard not to like the little bugger. Read more

    Since the initialization of the netbook trend, Asus manages time and again to define the existing staff for other netbook competitors with its models.  This applies for the current Eee 1000H with a 10" display , too. The netbook shows itself very agile and should, with its sturdy metal case , also cope with very intensive mobile use. The basics are focused on the offered ports.     The 1000H is big enough and powerful enough to sit on the boundary between netbooks and ultra-portable notebooks. Bigger than Asus' 901, it uses the extra space wisely, packing in an 80 GB hard drive and a larger screen.     If you’re looking for the smallest or lightest netbook with a 10 inch screen, this isn’t it. You might want to consider the HP Mini 1000. If you’re looking for the netbook with the best battery life, you’ll probably be better off with a Samsung NC10 or an MSI Wind U100. But if you’re looking for a netbook with decent build quality, a nice keyboard, excellent touchpad, good battery life, and reasonable performance, the Eee PC 1000H could be your machine. Read more

    Here is my review of ASUS Eee PC 1000H after 3 years. This was my first ASUS netbook purchase since I wanted a small computer and I can tell you that is pure rubbish. From the very beginning I noticed that if I wanted to run more than 3 internet browsers at the same time the laptop will shut down. If I want to run two simultaneous programs, it will shut down. The touch pad is extremely sensitive and once I touch it while typing, the cursor will jump all over the screen. Read more

    the new 1000H with 6 cell and XP home is nice overall for those who are accustomed to Intel single core type performance. The very good screen is on par with many laptops since the onset of the hi-res era. The battery in place makes the rear (or frnt for many) of the laptop --right under the flip-out LCD-- bulge down thicker: not very elegant. Read more

    This computer is great. After about a month of research, comparing with the other companies, i decided on the 1000H, and i'm very happy. Right out of the box, i was amazed at how small it was (so glad i didn't get a 9-inch...) but still big enough to be usable. And the keyboard is comfortable, its not much of a difference in size. Battery life is pretty good... right now it says 4:35 hours (93%) remaining... Read more

    Great little netbook, I got mine used and the battery still lasts a good 4 or 5 hours. Installed windows 7 on it because xp was having some issues. Windows 7 runs pretty well and drivers weren't hard to find. Overall it's good for what it is. Read more

    I got this machine for school. I kept bouncing back and forth between this, and the atom powered 900 at best buy. I did not want to carry a full laptop, and batte5 hourry life was top priority. I was lured by the promise of 7-8 hour life, but I am actually getting 4.5 hours. I might get more if I turn the backlight all the way down, cut wifi off, and disable everything in the BIOS, but obviously, I can't do that. Read more

    • hard drive was partitioned funny, ACPI driver does not work in vista, the trackpad is already starting to sag, the license key has already faded before I got a chance ...

    This is a good machine, but it's not the best. Almost immediately after getting it I've had a problem with it shutting down on it's own while I'm using it. [...] Putting this issue aside, if you're touch typist you will hate the keyboard. The right shift key is small and in the wrong place. The touchpad is touchy. The touchpad buttons are stiff and it's hard to keep from hitting the touchpad when you use them. This causes the cursor to bounce around the screen. Read more

    EEE PC 1000H I first started looking for a netbook as a companion for my University work where having easy access to the internet lecture notes would make my life a lot easier.     ASUS Eee PC 1000HA 10-Inch Netbook 5 This product has a lot of value. You really get a lot for your money. If you compare it on the basis of processor, memory, screen size, etc, you are really missing the point. What this thing does best is give you a relatively ample PC in a package that makes it much more usable than your typical laptop. It seems like laptops just keep getting bigger and bigger.
