The Acer Aspire One is integrated with 1.6 GHz Intel Atom N270 processor, 1GB DDR2 533MHz and 120GB 5400RPM Hitachi Hard Drive. It can come together with Linpus Linux Lite operating system or Windows XP operating system. In terms of input, it has a keyboard and touchpad with button for left and right click. It has a Wi-Fi networking (802.11b/g) and able to support wireless connection. With this feature, it automatically detects and connects to the Internet at any hotspot. As for software, it is preloaded with a variety of applications. Some of them are Open Office applications, FireFox web browser and built-in messenger client. It is equipped with a built-in 0.3 Megapixels Acer Crystal Eye webcam. In terms of audio, it has two built-in stereo speakers, a headphone jack and microphone input. Its Li-Ion battery offers a battery life of up to 3 hours. It is equipped with 3 USB 2.0 ports, 1 VGA video output and 2 card readers, Kensington Lock Slot and RJ-45 network port. It measures approximately 249 × 170 × 29 mm in dimensions and weighs approximately 0.99 kg.
this is the best deal of all of the netbooks.. it has great specs, good speed, nice webcam.. etc…
the only disadvantage is that it has poor cooling system just like lennovo. bought one yesterday and after 30 mins of using, it hangs or dead and when ive touched the back of the netbook its so hot as hot as the oven toaster. i hope that acer could fix this fan problem soon

The Acer Aspire One has done really well in the marketplace out selling every other 8.9'' netbook. The keyboard is large for the size of the netbook and it has a very slim design at only 1.1'' thick and it's really light weighing in at only 2.2 lbs. I use this computer mainly with my gps for mapping 2-tracks & trails. It's a great portable computer that can easily be carried practically anywhere. The 6 cell battery is an added benefit, providing long run time. Read more
I'm a middle school science teacher as well as the yearbook advisor, and I needed some inexpensive wireless computers for my students to access the internet. These computers are reliable, fairly fast and easy to use. The screens are small so doing any kind of work on them for prolonged periods can be tedious. Read more
