  • Summary: This is a great professional euphonium for serious players. My only complaint is that the valve stems are longer than some other pro models, and I have to work harder on finger technique to get good results.
  • Pros: Beautiful sound, looks great, easy to play, very good craftsmanship.
  • Cons: The valve stems are a bit longer than other models

  • Summary: Is it the horn or what's playing the horn that is in question here. Moisture variation between one horn or another is factually negligible. And the use of a pillow?! I'm 6'2" and have never used a pillow -it's called holding the horn to you and not holding you to the horn! Grow some stones!
  • Pros: Well designed, expertly manufactured, sonorous instrument.
  • Cons: Cost-benefit over the 642 series may be questionable.

  • Summary: I have owned this horn for 11 months and already have had the valves re-lapped to resolve stickiness and unexplainable air lock and air pressure problems, particularly in Valve #3. This is starting to re-occur.
  • Pros: It looks nice.
  • Cons: Pistons seize under air pressure; diminished tonal quality and harsh sounding higher notes. No spit valve for slide number 1. The "luxury" case is in fact cheaply made of thin brittle plastic.
