Great!

  • Summary: I bought this horn to complement my trumpet with a more mellow-sounding tone. I mainly play classical pieces and just play for the sake of playing. I'm not a professional, but I've been playing trumpet for about 17 years. I wanted it for a nice-to-have, fun-to-play instrument that takes less effort to produce a good sound than a trumpet. I have played other cornets, but didn't test-play this one first. I've played Yamaha before and figured that it's hard to go wrong.
  • Pros: Consistent, Easy Tone Production, Fun To Play, Responsive, Vibrant Sound

  • Summary: I bought this used a couple of years ago. I wanted a sound somewhere between my trumpet and flugel and this horn worked out just fine for me. The fact that it already had a Reeves valve alignment may have helped the blow which is more open than the 2330II my daughter plays. I use Curry 3DC and 3TC cup mouthpieces with it and have never been disappointed with the results. The serial number inicates this horn to be about 15yrs.
  • Pros: Great intonation,fine finish,bright tone,very responsive
