  • Summary: I bought this for my youngest daughter to play once she demonstrated she was sticking to playing. She tried a few at the music store and liked this one best. I tried it out to make sure she wasn't choosing it for the silver plate and was quite suprised by te beautiful tone and the fine intonation.
  • Pros: Well built, excellent intonation, valves are as tight as on any of my pro horns
  • Cons: Gets stuffy above high A

  • Summary: This looks exactly like the student Yamaha cornet that I started with in 4th grade and played all through high school marching band. I remember this cornet having fantastic valves that were just as good as any Getzen.
  • Pros: Valves, easy blowing
  • Cons: None that I can recall

  • Summary: Yamaha calls this cornet it's "standard". I wanted to start playing cornet and not spend much $$$. I found a used 2330 for $145. and love it! Very good valves, 1st and 3rd intonation adjustment, excellent tone (I use a Wick 4B).
  • Pros: Quality vs cost
