machine does not measure up to Xerox quality of past
9 July 2014
Summary: This machine has numerous idiosyncrasies that make it a pain for multiple users here. I have contacted Xerox multiple times about one particular item but there they offer no real fix. Sad, I have always been a steadfast xerox supporter/user.
Summary: I wrote a review in the recent past for this product and my core complaint was the Mac OS X driver support. A few days after getting the printer Apple issued 10.9.3 and scanning works natively from the built-in app including the document feeder. Now if Xerox will fix SMTP based printing to allow the use of TLS/STARTTLS I would give the printer 5 stars.
Summary: I bought this for the office after considering several multifunction printers since the price seemed fair for what it is. It's print quality is just so-so and only dwindles from that. Its a little slow on boot up and print common documents like emails, PDFs and word. It takes several minutes to process a 10 slide power point. Printing aside... the interface and UI panel is awful.
Summary: We needed something smaller than contract printer but able to handle some heavier loads of printing. This is a PERFECT in between printer. It does everything you could as a printer this size to do. No issues with any maintenance.
Summary: Had a 6180 before this that was well-built and a real workhorse. The 6605 is almost as good. Feels like its built more cheaply, but it functions well. Its wake-up time is fast, and the fuser stays warm for raid print speeds. Pretty happy with it. I've seen other reviews of MFPs where people were trying to get the fax working with VoIP/Von@ge/IP lines. They gave low ratings because they couldn't get faxing working. Faxes require ANALOG LINES.
Summary: I found this machine frustrating because I can't set up preview for scans. That means you have to go into your folder and look through all the numbered scans for the one you are looking for. It seems like preview (and then the ability to save with your name of choice) would be a basic user-friendly option.
