Summary: It does a good job scanning, network faxing quality is okay, good print quality, fast; 5 stars when it works. Worked well enough for less than 6 months before I started noticing I had to mess with it anytime I needed to print again. If you intend to use it wirelessly, know that it frequently disconnects from your network and/or refuses to communicate. I'm a professional network engineer and this would be impossible for novices to deal with.
Summary: In general, this unit has served me well. There have been a couple pain points, though. 1) I found the network setup to be rather tedious, though I did not try to use the supplied software. I expected--and see no reason why I shouldn't have--this to be much more plug-and-play. 2) This unit is *not* a PostScript printer, so it is more difficult to install and use in some cases.
Summary: This printer performs well for a no thrills wireless printer for small business & has a decent scanner for Mac if you also order the scanner driver. However, avoid ordering this product on expedited shipping which at time was fastest way to ship printer (since has changed on site). Expedited shipping is an absolute joke & has no means to track where the package is at. I ended up waiting almost 11 days after order to get my printer.
Summary: Bought this printer/scanner hoping it to be the fix for all the problems that come with the windows 7 upgrade. I am pleased with the outcome at this point. The set up for printing was relativly simple, the scanner portion was slightly more difficult. It required I download the driver and install it before it worked. Now it is like clock work. Connected to the Wi-Fi with dynamic IP it works excellent. It also has an App for Android operating phones to print to.
Summary: As others have mentioned getting this printer setup is a pain. It isn't something you will only do once either. The software driver doesn't handle printer IP changes very well. You will constantly be fiddling with things. If you aren't computer savvy this printer is not for you. Do yourself a favor and setup a static DHCP lease for the printer on your router or just a put a static IP in the printer.
Summary: Samsung Monochrome Multifunction Laser Printer (SCX-4623FW)(windows XP)... bought this for $149 clearance at Of-Max. After my experiences with tempermental HP printer softwares I decided to find a lexmark, samsung or brother for under $200... This was it. what was not obvious when purchased... only 110 voltage cartridges are rated 1500 to 2,500 copies.
Summary: This printer is a great choice for home use. Very easy to setup, and prints very fast. Great quality printouts. The scanning function is excellent. Its connected to my network via Wi-Fi, and have multiple Windows 7, Vista and Mac 10.6.6 computers sharing this printer. The toner is cheaper than buying two Black and Color HP ink cartridges. I recommend it.
Summary: This copier/printer/scanner/fax machine is great for the small business owner. The wireless system was easy to set up -- just a few clicks and router info, and it was running. Black ink only, but that is ok - I'm tired of spending $$$$$ on color. I recommend it for home or small business use.
Summary: purchased as a home network printer to finally replace an HP 1100 great print quality and speed of printing. It is somewhat slow to leave sleeping mode to ready mode after period of inactivity (most likely operator error I suspect)
