Summary: I will come back and write a longer review. Over the 2 years that I have owned this, i have come to regret this purchase over and over. Need to re install drivers every once in a while. Scan to PC feature does not work well. You have to initiate the scan from the pc. Cannot initiate scan from machine. Even better. If the toner is low, it gives errors when you are trying to just scan and save as pdf. Pro. Wifi connectivity is a big big plus.
Summary: I bought this printer and at the beginning I was happy with it. Wireless, printing and scanning worked fine. Then it quickly ran of of toner. So, I bought a new Samsung toner from Staples. When I replaced it, the printer was always giving the status "Replace Toner" and it did not print anymore. There were no way to delete the status message ! (even with the brand new toner) I think this is a design flaw.
Summary: Wireless function does not work properly. Very cumbersome installation process. Once installed it works fine. Then the printer falls asleep - by design, according to tech support. Does not wake up on print job being sent to it via wi-fi, you need to actually walk up to it to wake it up by pushing power button. Even that does not work consistently, because the printer forgets its own assigned IP. I fought with it for two weeks. Gave up and returned to the store.
Summary: Scanning doesn't work properly. I keep getting the message "not available" when I try to scan. The manual says to check the port connection. The port connection is fine. Customer support people don't know what they're doing (if you can even understand what they're saying).
Summary: I purchased this from Fastfriendly service and cant say enough good about them. Throughout this entire tortuous install, they replaced the unit without question and have directed me as far as they could. THEY are not the issue and I would do business with them at any time. The issue is the Samsung unit. In short, when installed, I turn it on and it causes the computer to reboot. WHAT?
Summary: I tried to set up the wireless connection from the printer to the router, but no luck. I've called the tech support four times. Every one basically let me do the same exercise. After the first time called, the rep told me he would escalate the case and have their next level support team call me in 2-3 business days. 8 days passed, but no one ever called me. I checked back and the case was still sitting there. This is how Samsung handle the support case! Unbelievable!!!
Summary: The printer is yet to be used because it is 110v and it was purchased to be used in Africa with 240v. Most printers these days come with 110-240v power rating to be used all over the world (at least HP printers are) so when purchasing the printer, it was just assumed to be 110-240v because the voltage rating wasn't written on the printer details on Amazon or Samsung's websites.
Summary: Don't buy this if you are on 10.6.5. I have had it less than 2 months and upgraded to 10.6.5 and it broke ALL the software with this. Their horrible tech support refused to even escalate me to Tier 2 or offer to contact me when drivers were available even though I'm a registered "Owner" on their site.

Es ist mir jedoch unverständliche wie SAMSUNG einen so guten Drucker(MFP)bauen kann, bei der Software für den beworbenen, wichtigen, angeblich problemlosen WLAN-Anschluss reiner "Schrott" liefert. Der vergebliche Versuch mit der beigefügten Software den Drucker kabelos an einem Arbeitstag an 3 PCs zu installieren scheiterte. Anruf bei der kostenpflichtigen Hotline von Samsung.
Summary: konnte bis jetzt noch nicht mit dem gerät arbeiten, da ich seit ca 2 stunden versuche den drucker für die wirelessoption zu konfigurieren. es heißt zwar, daß es kinderleicht gehen soll - für pc user mag das sein, aber für mac user ist das nicht der fall. der support schien sich auch nicht mit macs auszukennen. nun warte ich auf einen rückruf, der innerhalb der nächsten 4 stunden, oder morgen kommen soll. na herrlich.. leider echt enttäuschend. bis jetzt...
