Summary: i picked up one of these 7 or so years ago due to the awful performance and very high cost of a lexmark all in one ink jet. i don't use it a whole lot and it has worked fairly well for 7 years and samsung is generally a good brand. aftermarket toner cartridges are reasonable (around $25) although the first supplier i tried sent me 2 bad ones. cartridges are supposed to be good for 3K pages of type but i don't think i get quite that many but close.
Summary: Just plugged it into my laptop and it fired off perfect documents quietly and effortlessly. I already love this printer. I am so happy I purchased it. It was refurbished and looks new and was very nicely packed. Arrived promply. I am thrilled with this purchase after years of struggling with a couple of cheap ink jet printers.
Summary: This printer is like an old Ford Festiva. If you bought it thinking you were getting a Cadillac someone lied to you. It's pretty basic, it's dependable, it runs cheap. It is my workhorse printer. If I want high quality or color I have an inkjet that cost more than this printer did I can use. It also costs more to use. The 4100 just sets down under the desk and spits out paper with printing on it when I ask it to. I don't know how many copies it has made.
Summary: For those that said this printer jams a lot, they are exaggerating. I've found the best way to avoid this is to always use new paper and keep it full. Or you could do what I do - simply feed one page at a time (through the front slot) . I was using an old dot-matrix printer from the 80s (Commodore brand), so for me this was a major upgrade.
Summary: I bought this with an extra toner cartridge a year or two ago. I never really used it (I have another perfectly good laser printer), but my mother has been using it. Recently I switched laser printers with her and I noticed the left side of pages printed with the SCX-4100 fade terribly. I tried a lot of things to fix it - I removed the toner cartridge, shaked it. I used the other toner cartridge, but have the same problem. It's just not worth the hassle and frustration.
Summary: I've owned the Samsung SCX4100 Laser Multifunction printer for 5 years now. It prints, it copies, it scans. It does everything it's supposed to do. The drivers and software work fine in Windows XP. The print quality is mediocre at best. When the toner gradually gets used up, the quality can sometimes also deteriorate. The paper feed is the most negative factor of this printer. Sometimes it feeds two pages at once and crumples up the paper while printing.
Summary: I bought this almost 4 years ago and it is the BEST printer I have ever owned! Update: 11/04/2011 - This is still the best laser printer I've ever owned and I recommend it to everyone who is looking for a very easy to use all-in-one printer/scanner/copier. You can purchase the toner for it here on Amazon for about $35.00 and the toner lasts well beyond the suggested printed sheets.

Summary: Mac printer drivers have been out on the web for a while, so that takes care of that issue. Scanning was a big challenge, but thanks to a clever guy on Mac Rumors, that issue is now solved as well. So, the SCX-4100 is now fully functional on a Mac! I got the scanner in my SCX-4100 working with the Samsung SCX-4500 scan driver (I also use the SCX-4500 print driver.) Steps: 1. Download the Mac SCX-4500 scan driver from Samsung. 2. Unzip the package 3.
Summary: Pros. good price with copier and printer... not really expensive for the maintain... Bad. a little noisy when it warms up. Overall, I love it. it works well and fast enough for the small office. It is just good enough for small size of offices.
