Summary: I had this for less than a month before it started to give me problems. I had to uninstall and reinstall the drivers and then it worked for maybe a week. It is currently in for repair by Samsung. Another negative: the loading tray capacity is very small--maybe 10 sheets tops.
Summary: Pros: ------- Setup couldn't be simpler - does *not* force bloatware on you. Simple wireless setup Easy setup to transfer scans to your PC with Easy Print Manager Love the Eco toner saver app. Great print quality Beautiful scan quality Fast and quiet INEXPENSIVE! Cons: -------- Will not connect to phone line for faxing: Causes phone "off-hook" condition with high-pitched "beep-beep-beep"; no dial-tone. I've had two units that do this. It is a Samsung design flaw.
Summary: Two stars because at least it connects every time via the local PC USB connection. It does scan a lot quicker than my other product name begins with "H." Bought this because of wireless features...that continually needs troubleshooting and nothing seems to work right.....now it is a headache cannot even get the printer manager to work or access via the IP address in my WIn 8.1 PC.
Printer scan mode malfunctioned shortly after delivery
31 March 2014
Summary: The printer scanner function failed shortly after purchase. Two calls to the Samsung tech support resulted in the conclusion that the control panel was defective and needed replacement. Samsung had no local options for repair or return, but authorized prepaid shipping for return to a Samsung center in California for repair or replacement. This would have left me without a printer for two weeks, so I contacted Amazon and third party customer service.
Summary: This is a great cost effective printer. However on a mac the wireless feature is patchy at best and the scanner does not function all the time. I would not buy this if you are going to use on a mac, you will spend more time trying to configure and fix than you would like to. Go for something with a closer history of working with mac products such as a Cannon or HP.
Summary: The image posted for the FW model does not, I believe, correspond to the what it purports to be. I ordered this item and ended up with an F model, not the FW. The F model is NOT wireless. I am quite anxious about re-ordering this printer via Amazon as a result. I did try it out, however, via USB, and it is fast. Print quality is sharp and clear. The disjunction between what I ordered and received, though, is highly disconcerting.
Worst Setup Experience Ever. Samsung please stick to Cellphones
28 February 2014
Summary: Firstly I'm no newbie to technology, I do it for a living and have been doing it for a long time. I have setup office topology, servers, voip systems and have pretty much seen it all. Until I got to this printer. For the record I got it Working and yes when it is working, it is still working. I got it networked and available on 3 cellphones, 3 tablets, 3 Win 7 and 1 WinXP (yes I said XP,no choice) workstation and that was the easy part.
Summary: Bought because of other reviews. Been a major headache trying to use wirelessly. It was a mess to set up and use. The lcd screen is dark. The menu system is poor. If its been a few days since I printed I have to unplug the power cord and reinitialize to be able to communicate. This is after we set a static address. I replaced the wireless access point which made no difference. This is the only one of several wireless devices that has this problem.
Summary: This was one of the hardest wireless printers I've ever attempted to set-up to my desktop and two laptops. 1) The directions that come with the printer or not detailed enough. 2) It's not a simple connection because you have to end up connecting the printer to ever device for the initial set-up process. 3) Customer service is HORRIBLE!!!! They come of as if their in a rush to get you off of the phone and they will not talk you through the connection.
