Summary: I tried to use this as a wireless printer. After it goes to sleep it is unavailable to print until you power it off and on again. Every time you want to print you need to do this. I wasted huge amounts of time on tech support trying to get this to work. They had me bring it to a repair shop 30 minutes away. Who in turn said it was fixed. Then I brought it home, and it did exactly the same thing.
Summary: I've had this printer for about a year and a half and over this time have used it (or tried to use it) with multiple operating systems, routers, and internet service providers. No matter my set up, it has always suffered numerous problems. It regularly goes offline for no reason and stays that way even when powered off and on.
Summary: Solid red light came on after 50 pages, customer support was so-so on phone. Took it into a local place (still within 1 year warranty), the guys tell me that they see these a lot. Cant' recommend it.
Summary: I was excited to have my wife open this gift today, but when I tried to set it up I found the paper tray was cocked and jammed. Samsung customer support said the best they could do was to have me take it to a repair shop. They suggested that the external damage was probably accompanied by more significant internal damage. I have start the process to return the product, and hope that my wife can get her gift soon.
Summary: We bought several Samsung Printers, including one of these at the same time. ALL OF THEM HAVE BROKEN DOWN WITHIN 4 MONTHS!. Spend 3 hours twice on chat or telephone w service before they allowed us to return it. I returned it and put a piece of tape over the USB connector. They returned it later saying it was fixed. When I got it back, it made loud noises and still printed blank pages. On top of that, the tape on the USB port was still there.
Summary: There is just one problem with this printer, but unfortunately, it is a big one. The "W" in the model name denotes that it is wireless, but as a WIRELESS printer, this thing is useless. Let me clarify, this is a fabulous printer. The print quality and speed are great. I am impressed with how quickly the printer comes ready, and also how quiet it is for a laser printer. The downside is that the wireless feature is horribly flawed.
Summary: I liked this printer for the first three months, enough that I ordered a box of 4 toner cartridges that were certified compatible. And indeed they were, until I was about 500 pages in to the first cartridge and Samsung pushed out a forced firmware update that I had no control over or knowledge of until it was done.
Summary: Had so much trouble setting up the wireless connection with my Mac that I fully gave up after 4 hours of trying... including followed the directions from every possible source that I could find. Granted that I have the Feb 2011 version of Mac. I managed to use it once. That could possibly contribute to the frustration, but now I'm having trouble turning on the printer. Not worth it at all.
Summary: We don't print that often and got tired of the Epson R800 inkjet's expense and failure, skipped ink lines, etc. so I bought this Samsung 2525w. I wanted a wireless network laser that can service three computers: a laptop XP, a desktop XP and a desktop Win7. It'd be nice for it to print from my iPhone4 but asking Apple to do something like printing is truly a joke. But I digress. Right after installation of the drivers, everything works fine.
