Summary: We bought this for my company based on the (mostly) good reviews. Maybe we just have bad luck, but we have hated this printer from day one, and customer service is awful!!!! Printer functionality - We use it with wi-fi, and it takes a good 2-3 minutes before anything will print, and that's when we're lucky enough for things to actually print. At least once a day we have to restart the printer and/or our computers to get the wi-fi to reconnect.
Summary: I have had this printer for about 6 months now. The first one was defective and had to be sent back. Got a new one and it is just simply a bad printer. I will tell it to print from the Manual Paper tray and it prints from the drawer, I tell it to print landscape and it prints portrait. Every time you change a paper size OR type you have to go through a cumbersome screen to tell it what type/size of paper you are using.
Summary: I bought this thinking, "Hey, it's a Samsung, it is a great product!". Boy, was I wrong. It was heavy, bulky and extremely hard to take out of the box. Once out and set up, I come to find it is defective... something wrong with the printing... nothing printed right. Lines all over the place. If you want a great printer get a Brother MFC.
Summary: Not sure how others are giving this a good review. Bought based on reviews but horrible printer. Now I am starting to wonder if the rumours are true regards Samsung reviews - that they pay people in third world countries to post reviews! Stay away from Samsung.
2 strikes - 1 printer had wifi issues & 1 printer slowed to 7-8ppm vs. the 25ppm advertised rate.
Falcon7X "pgrv1", Amazon
28 November 2013
Summary: Had ordered two (2) of these printers, whereby both were defective. One printer had an issue whereby I could not connect wirelessly -- despite many repeated attempts of every conceivable nature (i.e. WPS, manual IP, dynamic IP, etc.) The second printer had slowed to a crawl after printing 100+ pages continuously. Worse, the toner would bleed, streak, smear all over the page. The color image rendering would be polygonish and hopelessly unfixable.
Excerpt: I purchased this item with the belief that it would be a great all in one device for small business use and the toner would be cost effective. Upon arrival it printed color pages with streaks and required a service call. Since then it often loses print jobs (they just don't print out but are not queued on the PC or in the printer itself), paper jams frequently and often has various "error codes" such as "motor failure" which require a power cycle.
Cons: Expensive, Loud, Toner Not Sold In Stores, Unreliable
Excerpt: This machine is a dog. There are weird adjustments like humidity, altitude, clear text not describe in user manual. User manual describes almost nothing important. Duplex function will not work with collate function. Most Word print commands have no effect on the machine's operation. I was told by Samsung it would scan at least 600 dpi but it won't. Customer service is nice. Treat them well. You'll be needing them.
Cons: Duplex Won't Collate, Scan Is Only 300 Dpi, User Manual Poor, Won't Accept Word Control
Summary: Got this for use with wife's iMac and never worked right. Kept coming in and out of sleep mode from day one. Each time, it was super loud and annoying. Called Samsung technical support and tried to diagnose the problem. After an hour - the tech concluded the machines is defective. Thank goodness of Amazon's great return policy. Boxed it up and shipped it back - but beware - it weighs like 60lbs.
Summary: Countless hours spent fiddling with this thing to get it to work. It is the most un-intuitive piece of technology I have ever used. It keeps defaulting (on its own) to the multipurpose tray and changing (on its own) to landscape orientation.
Excerpt: Our small Mac-based home office (5 users) bought this to replace our HP MFP, which was working just fine, but was old and didn't have the updated specs required by today's office environments (primarily PPM print speed and job processing speed). However, this model has been nothing but problems since Day 1.
