Summary: Bought printer and additional toner. Took it out of the box. Removed the stickers and tape and other packing materials from the outside and from the toner cartridge. Plugged it in, turned it on. Horrible, loud grinding noise for about 10 seconds, followed by the printer giving me "Error #A1-4111", which when I select in the LCD screen, tells me is a problem with the motor. I turn it off and back on again, try other things, nothing works.
I purchased this printer in 2011. After using for 3 years I regret purchasing the Samsung CLX-4195 FW

Summary: The Good The wireless function works well and easy to set up. The print quality is very good in both black & White and color. & the Rest.............. The photo color is very good however the generic color combo replacement cartridges are $200 and even more for the Samsung branded replacements. I have never found any of the replacement cartridges at any brick and mortar retailer so you have to purchase it online.
Summary: We have had nothing but problems with this printer since we purchased it. We tried to reset the printer, but the given password doesn't even work. If you call tech support they will send you a technician to decide how much it will cost! There warranty is a joke. Stay away.
Summary: This printer will not scan at the specifications it is sold under. Samsung support has confirmed this but will do nothing about it. I have been addressing this issue with samsung since October 2013. They are now not responding to me and when I call in I frequently get hung up on. Their customer support procedures are not designed with the satisfaction of the customer in mind. You can only scan up to 600 DPI and in some cases 300 is the max.
Summary: Printer worked great until I had to replace the toner. The printer won't print if one of the four toner cartridges is low...even if you just want to print using black !!! Worst of all, unless you use Samsung factory toner cartridges, which cost $80.00, the printer won't work. Non-Samsung toner cartridges, which are half the price, worked at first but after Samsung updated the printer software, only Samsung toner works. This is a blatant rip-off.
Summary: I got this printer set up in my office a few weeks ago, it prints okay although it's very slow to warm up and very quick to go to sleep. Now for the bad part: You get up to 2500 copies from a black toner cartridge, usually around 2000 and they cost $108.00 with tax. So we divide 10800 by 2000 and we get 5.4cents per copy JUST for the toner alone in black, this doesn't take into account the paper as well. So with paper you are paying over 6 cents per copy.
Summary: Awful Printer!!!! Just bought it 1 month ago, the PBA - MAIN & PBA FAX Card had to be replaced. Now it won't print and I've spent hours with Tech Support and they can't even fix it. I would NOT RECOMMEND this printer to anyone.
Summary: Further follow up--This printer stopped working after only a few months. It says there is no yellow toner installed. As you probably know, these cartridges are way too expensive, but I changed it out anyway. Still didn't work. Sent it in to Samsung for warranty replacement. It took a month. I got the replacement today. It doesn't work--jams on every page. A co-worker helped me determine that there was a bent piece of plastic that the paper was catching on.
Summary: I have owned this printer for less than one year. It will only print when ALL of the cartridges are functioning. There is no override that allows you to print B&W when the printer is unhappy with one of the colors. Replacement cartridges are both expensive and a potential problem: the machine has decided, after several months, that the replacement yellow cartridge suddenly has incompatible powder and now the machine is again useless.
Summary: Unfortunately, it's the worst printer I've ever owned. It only worked for 1 day before it starting breaking down. The only way my wife could print was to restart the printer each time. And it only printed for me about once or twice a week. Now it got a paper jam. It won't come unjammed. While trying to unjam it it got badly burned on 2 of my fingers from a super heated coil 15 minutes after it jammed. So now it's just a 40 pound paper weight.
