Terrible printer, terrible company

jp, Amazon
4 March 2014
  • Summary: I actually liked the printer for the month that it worked. After that, color print jobs got progressively worse, with red dots all over the page. I followed all the online FAQs to try to resolve the issue. This included new toner, new paper and trying various quality settings in the driver. The quality problem happened from PCs and MAC, so it wasn’t a driver issue. Finally called Samsung support and they opened a ticket for repair.

Not Fully Compatible with iMac

MJL ID, Amazon
9 December 2013
  • Summary: This printer never fully was compatible with my iMac, and after several phone calls to Samsung, as well as Mac support (with a lot of finger pointing between the two) I was told this wasn't fully compatible with Mac's recent operating systems and would never print in color. It prints in black and white "fine" (still a bit grainy, but I'm sure that is a compatibility issue) but was never operational in color.

"Biggest pile of junk I have purchased in a while"

JP_Austin, CNET
5 August 2013
  • Pros: Only jams about every ten pages Toner runs out quickly so you need to purchase more! Print doubles as eye test Constantly beeps to remind you it's sleeping.
  • Cons: Worthless printer. Print quality bad and getting worse with time. Tried to take it back to fry's but was more than 90 days old so they refused.

One of the worst device I ever bought, stay away

tehsin, Amazon
18 May 2013
  • Summary: I wish if there was a star below one, I'd have given for this product. The installation is so crap that I spent full 2 days of my weekend installing on my laptop. ou First it refuses connect with my wifi, despite several installs on different machines. Another HP worked just fine. The over on USB it prints one page in 5 minutes, just black text. The queue is held up and only prints If I power off and then on from wall socket.

Jury is still out on this one

JP, Amazon
10 April 2013
  • Summary: I purchased this printer to replace a ink jet printer that recently died. I was tired of constantly buying ink to only have the cartridge either dry up or print poorly. I have used a color laser at work for a while and decided to give the lower end machines a try. I setup the printer easy enough. The instructions were clear and the software install went well. I used a fixed IP address as i have about six different people using this printer.

Scanner died 45 days after purchase

welbo, Amazon
26 February 2013
  • Summary: It makes horrible grinding noises every time you turn it on. Samsung support requires the unit be shipped to their service center, at my expense, and repaired even though it is so new. When it WAS working, while connected to my wireless router, it would routinely disconnect, making it unavailable for printing and scanning. Then when it would reconnect, it would acquire a different IP, making it necessary to change settings in the driver before I could use it again.

User Review

Jonathan_S, NCIX.com
14 January 2013
  • Summary: Probably the worst printer I've had the displeasure of using. 1 out of 10 rating at best. It was cheap, and replaced another Samsung printer that died after 13 months. Therein was the problem! Should have gone with another manufacturer! It prints text fast, but images have all sorts of wierd colours. And the Air Print mode is so flakey, I finally just wired the printer to the network, as the air print mode has to be reset constantly!
  • Pros: Its cheap; air print available; prints text fast.
  • Cons: Its cheaply made; supplies only last about 500 pages and are expensive to replace; image prints are horrible with lots of off colours. Air print often needs to be reset.
