Summary: This printer, scanner, fax works when IT wants to! If I had a nickel for every time I've uninstalled and reinstalled this printer I'd be wealthy. The one good thing is the fax, it always works but if I want to print something from my computer that's another story; I'm lucky if it prints 4 pages before I get a message that it not connected, which it is. Time to start researching a new one that won't have issues and won't break the bank.
Summary: Had good service with a model X6650 for over 4 years until lightning got to it. Needed a quick fix....found a refurbished X5650 so I purchased it at a "good price". Guess you get what you pay for. It works fine for printing and receiving faxes, but the SCAN/COPY functions have never worked....tried all the "fixes", tech support, etc. all without result. No more Lexmark for me.
Summary: My husband bought me this printer several years ago, and I've disliked it from the get go. First, it is SO EXTREMELY SLOW. Seriously slow just for one lousy page! I finally put it on "quick print" for most of my printing, which speeds it up considerably (but still nothing like our laser which spits them out) and for every day printing, it's fine. Printing quality drops, of course. Second, we've had numerous problems with it.
Summary: I bought this printer to use for banner printing of strip-logs, which it did fine for about one year. One day it said "carrier jam" and no longer printed and I could not get the error message to go away. Customer service confirmed that the printer was broken, but older than 1 year and no longer under warranty.
Summary: Like most of the other reviews state, it works fine though slowly, and is an ink guzzler! Plus, I just went to buy a new cartridge at Rapid Refill and learned that you can only use each cartridge once so they don't sell refills. This is bad for consumers, bad for the environment, and a bad choice on Lexmark's part I think since I won't be buying anymore Lexmark printers for my business until they change their policy.
Summary: I teach graduate business, finance, and economics at a major university, so I rarely admit in public that I was STUPID!!! But I was stupid to buy this printer. I did not do my homework. I did not read any product reviews. I bought it because it had an excellent combination of advertised features for the price, my previous printer was broken, I had a report overdue, and I had to buy something immediately. Now I'm paying the price! My previous printer was a Lexmark.
Summary: I purchased the printer in October 2009. About 4 days before the warranty was up printer stopped feeding. Although there was plenty of paper in the printer, the error message of "out of paper" would flash! When I contacted Lexmark, they did not want to honor the warranty but they finally agreed to. I received another printer on Oct. 11, 2010.
Summary: I thought all Lexmarks had separate ink cartridges. So, of course I get the only one that doesn't. This is an all-in-one, but the instructions only talk about the fax set-up. That should tell you that it is not the best at other things. Which is what I wanted, the other things. The Abby OCR is a good one, though.
Summary: We got this printer as a housewarming gift from my father-in-law. While HIS intentions were good, the printer itself is a piece of junk! If you read no further, let me just state this: do not buy this printer. We use our printer for everyday home office use and my biggest complaint is the amount of ink it uses. We don't print crazy amounts of anything and I can not tell you how much money we've spent on replacement cartridges already!
