Summary: I bought this 6 years ago when it was first released so i paid double of what it sells for. This is my first color and my second Lexmark. My first laser printer was a Lexmark 4039 12R. That was a great printer. It ran with very few paper jams and when it did, it was easy to clear the jam. it took any type of paper you threw at it. I use to print computer training manuals off it and it ran for hours without rest at times.
Summary: Good high-quality color laser printing. True 1200dpi. The printer did not jam once, unlike my DeskJet. Make sure you get the recommended paper type for a laser printer. The printer did arrive with some minor damage, but Lexmark provided in-person service with a replacement. It would be nice if the printer also had wireless ethernet, bluetooth, and e-fax capability.
Summary: Purchased about a year ago. I don't use it a lot, but some of the MFP features are nice. However, I can get that stuff elsewhere. The real problem is the cartridges. WOW! I should have done more research. It costs more to buy a set of cartridges than a new printer. Seems they have smart chips in the cartridges to keep you from refilling them. All it does is count the number of copies and shuts your printer down when it hits the magic number. What a ripoff.
Summary: Length:: 1:35 Mins We've had this printer for about three weeks now and had nothing but problems with it. In the past we've had only Brother printers and never had any problem, just needed some more features and this one sounded good when we bought it. There's another review that was posted one week after we received the printer that has the exact same problem as we do. No matter what paper you use, how perfect the paper is, it will jam time and time again.
Summary: Deeply disappointing. The estimated pages per cartridge are a joke. Very little color on my pages and toner is always running out. Then the waste toner box fills up in 2 weeks! What?! My old Brother multifunction would only need a new waste cartridge every 8-12 months! And jams? Don't get me started! Put in fresh, clean paper and it jams. What? Fresh out of the package. Not once, but move the paper, ruffle the paper, try whatever, and another jam. Call tech support?
Summary: When I first unpacked this printer, I was a bit overwhelmed at the thought of setting it up. It turned out that the instructions were easy to follow and we were in business the first time. There is a known glitch with print quality that occurs during shipping. When setting up for the first time it is important to remove the cartridges and the waste container and clean the lenses with a lint free cloth. If you don't do this there will be lines and spaces in the printouts.
Summary: I bought this printer about 6 months ago for my small business. I'm a realtor and about 90% of what I do is black and white printing & copies, with a little scanning and faxing. The color is good and can be adjusted to make the images look fantastic on the right paper (I use 28lb color copy paper). Let me give you a few of the problems that I've had so far: It's really slow when printing large files in full color.
