When Speed Across the Board Matters

Christopher Pyle "Adventure Education Provider", Amazon
10 November 2009
  • Summary: Our small office needs requires a printer that is quick not only in printing but in scanning. Until you reach the $3000.00 range, scan speeds are largely ignored. Our former laser printer was no longer being produced and we had to find a new model. This Lexmark blows away the top of the line home office ink jet in terms of print and scan speeds. In black and white text mode we're scanning between 15 and 20 pages per minute.

"As advertised. No burps yet. Great printing and color."

bcraner, CNET

  • Pros: Easy installation for all functions. Accurate color. I don't print high volumes but my son-in-law has an identical x502n in his construction shed at a large project, all who have used it like its volume capability and ease of cartridge replacement.
  • Cons: Have no complaints so far. Using the printer for business, and it performs flawlessly. Prints on cardstock, CD labels, heavy or regular, glossy or matte stock.

I'm surprised and impressed

Erin, pcRUSH.com

  • Summary: Comments about Lexmark X502N Multifunction Printer: I have normally been an HP user, and this is my first Lexmark. I wasn't sure if I would like it, but it turns out I do. I was hoping it would go a bit faster than it does, but hey there is no jamming, its handling all the multi-functions with ease and the print quality is better than I had hoped.
  • Pros: Compact Design, Easy Setup, Easy To Use, Reliable
  • Cons: Slow Operation

"Problem after Problem"

cms911, CNET
9 September 2008
  • Pros: Prints quickly when it works.
  • Cons: Scanning put lines across the document. Printing didn't work all the time. If left turned on too long (even if not in use) it will stop working and we'll need to be off for 4 hours before it re-initializes, maybe. Not fully compatible with Mac OS X.
