Is this really all Lexmark can do in this day and age?

Summary: One of the things I really needed from this MFP was scanning. Unfortunately scanning is a challenge for this printer. I'll just mention the fact that the SMTP setup for the server does not allow any secure connections, and that Lexmark is not going to fix the problem ever. Here is the reply I got from their Customer Service "You can use any smtp servers that doesn't require SSL Certification since we cannot install any SSL certificate on this printer.
Summary: THIS PRINTER PRINTS SLOWLY. WHEN PRINTING, IT PAUSES 3-5 SECONDS BETWEEN PRINTING AND EJECTING A PHYSICAL PAGE. THIS HAPPENS WHETHER ONE IS PRINTING SINGLESIDED OR DOUBLESIDED PAGES. SO FAR, LEXMARK TECH SUPPORT HAS NOT PROVIDED A SOLUTION THAT WORKS NOR INSIGHT ON WHY THIS HAPPENS.
Summary: I have no idea how anyone postively reviewed this design. It seems to be a very old low level product "over driven" to get a certain page per minute figure that would allow Lexmark to sell this to businesses. The paper feed is one of, if not the worst in the industry. We bought 5 for use at a car dealership, and have spent - in the first year!- almost as much in repair call outs, attempting to make them print reliably as the printer costed.
Summary: I calculated toner consumption based on the price of their high-capacity toner, which they claim is rated for 9,000 pages. Don't believe it. The "low toner" indicator comes on at around 5,000 pages, and the printed pages look fairly washed out by then. By 7,000 pages, the printed pages look too washed out to even read anymore, even with lots of toner shaking. This is with copying and printing text documents, many of which do not take up the full 8.5x11 area (e.g.
Summary: When my old Dell Multi printer out its nature life (5years) my wife insisted to purchase Lexmark X264DN, said she reviewed many "experts" reviews, this is best multi function machine in the market place for home office. Let me tell you my experience, if you are using it as a printer, I would say it is fine, but "multi function"? Forget it!, scanner function is so complicated, it took me three days to figure out how to scan and save file (there is no on-line support!
Summary: I had Lexmark take over my computer for three hours to try and get my scanning function to work and they were unable to do so. They don't tell you in their ads that the scanner will only work on a network, supposedly. The printing side of things worked fine, but the scanner would not operate. Instead I purchased a Brother 8890 and it worked like a charm.
Summary: This appears to be a well built printer. However, it is billed as Mac compatible - a flat lie. It comes with no Mac software, and customer support urges you to install it on Windows. Customer support readily admits it is not a good fit for Snow Leopard, but it won't tell you that on their website. They urge you to buy third party scanning software to support it, but can't name a software vendor that it works with. The driver is alpha-ready, if this.
Summary: An und für sich ein ordentliches Gerät, aber wenn ich bei jedem zweiten kopierten Blatt wieder und wieder einen Papierstau beseitigen muss, dann hat das Ganze einfach keinen Sinn. Grauenhaft!!!!
nur für windows XP, schlechter Support, Papierstau

Summary: Dieses sog.
