Summary: I've been using the X204n for quite some time as a network printer/scanner with both PC & Mac. As a printer I'm completely happy with it but have always had issues scanning with the doc feeder. Sometimes the doc feeder just ignores the fact that you're trying to use it and goes to the flat bed mode. When it does run I really have to baby it to get the pages to feed. It has a hard time keeping pages separate no matter how good the paper or prep so jams are regular.
Summary: Paper feed jams. Printer is temperamental. Now, there is something wrong with the scanner. I regret buying this machine... At least the customer service was good. I received a new machine within 24 hours of my call.
Summary: I am in IT as well as selling here on Amazon, so I know a thing or two about printers. My client bought this one while on sale and right away discovered this printer is not for a novice (too many options). From the start he had multiple problems, especially with the fax. When I came to help out and discovered the next step was talk to Lexmark, it went pretty smoothly and she said she would send out a new one.
Summary: The Lexmark X204N prints right around the manufactures published specs. Both plain text and pdf print and copy at about 20-24ppm.I know this since I actually timed it. I tested with graphics print and it was still in the 20-24ppm. So, if you are not printing this fast you need to check your drivers on Lexmark's website, and upload the latest updates. When I first used the scanner I was having problems using the scanning software with Presto Page Manager. It ran slow.
