"Not worth the price."

  • Pros: Print cost per page is good
  • Cons: Poor touch/keypad operation Software solutions don't work consistently on both PC & Mac BIG: Left hinge broken with regular/gentle use. Now sheet feeder jams because of misalignment. No repair center in my area will touch it.

Poor Print Quality

Jack T. Holt "Build it Rite", Amazon
7 April 2013
  • Summary: I have had this printer for some time now. I have replaced the print head cartridge twice. This is the poorest quality printer I have ever owned. I have had nothing but trouble with it since I got it. I do not recommend this printer to anyone. I have gone through all the troubleshooting help they offer and still have horizontal lines in my black ink. I have exhausted every avenue of help. I do not recommend this product for anyone.

"SUCKS!!!! That pretty much sums it up."

reviewer60606, CNET

  • Pros: It prints cleanly (WHEN it prints). No other pros, sorry. I would be lying if I said there were.
  • Cons: 1) service sucks (see summary) 2) only the printer ever works consistently 3) no automatic software update, so if it's been a while since you've used scan and fax, you'll have to spend lots additional time to fix-usually when you can least afford it!

"Works well MAYBE 25% of the time. Cheap & unreliable."

TechRacerX, CNET
17 August 2012
  • Pros: Reasonably Priced and seemed to be designed well, feature-wise.
  • Cons: Constantly must restart Scanner/Copier lid broke after a year while opening normally. Have to slam paper tray for full closure Often won't grab paper for auto feed Printer head failure with limited use - not firmware Often won't register ink refills

"has never worked properly"

elljayo, CNET
19 February 2012
  • Pros: cheap ink cartridges
  • Cons: installation was an endless aggravation, printing is very slow, I get undecipherable error messages (such as the big red X on the printer staying lit for no discernable reason) -- never had problems like this with the lexmark 205 -- sorry i upgraded

"Poorly built printer, not sturdy enough."

fractalbass, CNET
12 February 2012
  • Pros: Cheap... except when it comes time to replace the ink. Regular inks only last a few sheets, and the "XL" inks last a bit more, but still not all that long. I will say that the scan to email feature worked well... that is about it, however.
  • Cons: Ink doesn't last long. Made of cheap thin plastic. Hinge on the top broke after gentle use, and now sheet feeder isn't working. It is mac *compatible*, but all the setup software is for windows. Will not print on 3x5 note cards printed from Excel.

"Simply the worst printer I have ever owned."

cnet-member-666, CNET
16 December 2011
  • Pros: It does print, sometimes.
  • Cons: Does not really function as a printer. Cons listed below, as 250 characters is nowhere near enough room.

"Terrible printer, failed before printing 100 pages"

VA-MNDude, CNET
8 November 2011
  • Pros: Setup was easy but if it can't print even 100 sheets before it breaks what good is the printer. No wonder it was on sale.
  • Cons: Printer head issue brought the priner to it's knees and forced it to be replaced. I did a quick search on line and I am not the only one that has had the same error that is unfixable by Lexmark. DO NOT BUY THIS PRINTER!!

"Beautiful to look at, User friendly, but dysmal."

deullist, CNET
19 October 2011
  • Pros: Looks nice and works great -- when it works; cheap black ink.
  • Cons: Paper jams for fun; Envelopes print 50% of the time; On my second printer sent from Lexmark and third print-head; very touchscreen delay is annoying; Loses wirelesss signal constantly; print-jobs take a long time to inititialize.
