Cons: Poor touch/keypad operation Software solutions don't work consistently on both PC & Mac BIG: Left hinge broken with regular/gentle use. Now sheet feeder jams because of misalignment. No repair center in my area will touch it.
Summary: I have had this printer for some time now. I have replaced the print head cartridge twice. This is the poorest quality printer I have ever owned. I have had nothing but trouble with it since I got it. I do not recommend this printer to anyone. I have gone through all the troubleshooting help they offer and still have horizontal lines in my black ink. I have exhausted every avenue of help. I do not recommend this product for anyone.
Summary: Purchased here Dec, 2010. Am on 3rd print head! Used as main printer for my small business (average 1 ream in 4-6 weeks) so this sucks to be down til (5yr) warranty replacement comes in. Has tendency to jam when using card stock & labels. As the feed flips paper 180 deg, this is an issue. Must be they expected issues as the rear cover is easy to access to clear jams. FYI, Lexmark will stop production of Ink Jet Printers in 2015!
Pros: It prints cleanly (WHEN it prints). No other pros, sorry. I would be lying if I said there were.
Cons: 1) service sucks (see summary) 2) only the printer ever works consistently 3) no automatic software update, so if it's been a while since you've used scan and fax, you'll have to spend lots additional time to fix-usually when you can least afford it!
Excerpt: This Lexmark printer is great! It prints anything I need. The color is great on this and the quality is superb. This printer makes printing fun! The printer prints things in a timely manner and you can't ask for anything better than that! Especially at the price of this thing! All my photos, documents, etc, print great on this thing. The copier and scanner work great too. My pictures that I print look better than they are on my computer!
Excerpt: We were given this printer as a gift. I didn't think much about the scanner or fax capability of the machine. That is until I needed to scan a paper to send to my work computer. The Lexmark handled it beautifully. Fax machine---copier--scanner--printer.....all from one machine. We actually linked it wirelessly to three laptops that we have, so each can interface with the Lexmark.
Excerpt: After our previous printer broke unexpectedly (HP photosmart), I decided to shop online for another printer. After finally settling on this Lexmark Platinum Pro905 inkjet printer, I was very hopeful. Hoping that this printer was worth the two hundred dollars. And surprisingly (especially to me), the inkjet printer did come out to be very useful, and worth the money. It responds very fast to our computers and laptops especially wirelessly.
