Excerpt: This printer is awesome.... as long as it is working! I have only had the printer for a month and I have had to call customer service twice to get the software updated. I think that is very rediculous. Though I have had great customer service, I think that there is no reason that I should have to be calling them so often to get a connection between my computer and printer. Now, besides that problem, and when the printer is working, it is amazing.
Excerpt: I am a returning grad student and found this printer met 97% of my needs to print research resources. Terrific for printing double side, saves on paper, and the ink last at least two quarters.
Pros: I have a pro205 now for two years. It has great print quality and I have had no issues other than one failed printhead. Great printing quality, no jams, great OCR and paper identification.
Cons: The printhead is the major failure of this printer and I have had one cartridge in the recycle program that didn't work at all, but they sent me a free replacement and a discount on next order. I wrote to them to re-engineer the printhead.
Pros: I had no issues setting up the Wi FI or the printer itself. I printed over a hundred pages with no hassles over our network computers. Maybe it is just me, but I found the software easy to follow, and easy to install. While installing the software on the
Cons: The printer cartridge are a bit pricey, but pretty much all printer cartridge are that way. If you get a cheap printer always check the price of the printer cartridge. You have the option of just getting the smaller size ones, or getting the big ones for

Pros: An Outstanding Buy, Ink use is projected to be much less then others in this price range.
Cons: One MUST READ INSTRUCTION Very closely. Paper tray is a bit unfriendly to work with for the untrained. Removing packing tape will be a chore...Tape is everywhere take your time here. Installing ink cart. for the first time is a bit of a trial as well
Pros: Copier, printer, scanner, fax; all work very well. Very quick at printing and small in size. has an energy saver mode and has an lcd screen to view pictures on it. cheap ink
Cons: bought this to use with my new win7 comp and have had to update drivers at least twice. First time: said to constantly clean print cartridge which was clean and had to download a driver to it. 2nd time: said that it wasn't connected when it was
Pros: This is an extremely quiet printer with scan, fax capabilities. It prints great photos/graphics without using excessive ink or soaking the page.
Cons: The top paper feed (when scanning/making multiple page copies) was tempermental and often stopped feeding pages--although they were in position. Scanned pages sometimes produced crooked images regardless of how the page was adjusted on the scanner.
Summary: Comments about Lexmark Prospect Pro205: I just received this printer and set it up reasonably easily. It's in my second residence, so I haven't used it much; however, so far I like it much better than my HP printer, which is a piece of junk. The Lexmark is quieter and prints efficiently, without going through a million gyrations after each task. I haven't used the scanner yet, and I'm not sure how much ink it uses. I was just happy to get it working in approx.
