We will never own another Lexmark anything!!!
9 September 2012
Excerpt: We will never own another product made by Lexmark!!! We bought this printer and within a couple of months it was TRASH! We are not a family that prints a bunch of items by any means. We might use our printer once a day on a busy week but sometimes we go days or even weeks without using it for anything. The first problem was that it stopped feeding the paper itself.
Excerpt: I manage to get this printer from a friend who said it didn't work. After tinkering with it, I manage to get it working again. I would recommend avoiding this printer at all costs. The printer requires firmware installed into the computer in order to get the printer working (it doesn't have the hardware to operate). Once installed, it is almost impossible to uninstall, as it is tied to the spooler.
Excerpt: This is a basic all-in-one printer at a decent price. We have had for three years and have not had even one problem with it. Print quality on the "Quick print" for black and white is ok. Printing on the highest quality for text is excellent. I also have a laser printer and when you compare the two, printed text, side-by-side, you almost cannot tell the difference from the laser.
Summary: I like this particular lexmark printer. It is pretty durable and easy to use. I know some people dislike lexmark because of the cost of the catridges, but I am able to refill these cartridges over and over at a fraction of the cost. So everytime one of these printers break down, I find another used one to buy because Lexmark is now making it harder in their new cartridges to refill because the new printers and cartridges have smartchips.
Summary: I had a printer like this but it broke. I have a bunch of printer cartriges for it, and the ink cartriges cost more than the printer. This printer model is no longer being sold, so in order to use up my ink cartriges I bought this used printer. It works great! The moral of the story is not buy too many printer cartriges in advance, because if you do, your printer is bound to fail before you use them up.
Summary: I bought this printer about 4 years and it has never failed me. I used the scanner and copier functions almost as much as the printer. I had to stop using it because I bought a new computer with Vista and it isn't compatible with Vista. But it works extremely well with XP. I can honestly say that there is nothing I dislike about this printer and I would recommend it for anyone using Windows 2000 or XP.
Summary: I have had this printer for over 2 years and it has not missed a beat. It prints great pictures and very clear graphs and printed material. Big projects or small this is a versatel printer. It has a it's own editing software and the cartridges are affordable. You can also use the Wal-Mart Brand and save some cash there.
Summary: I love !!! this printer, all other reviews are true, but if you have windows vista it might not work. I just bought a new computer and we couldn't get it to work with the new windows vista, but should work with windows xp and windows 2000.we were running windows xp and had no trouble at all and having the CD to reinstall might have helped too!! lexmark's web sight doesn't list this printer anymore.
