Good all in one for paperless file storage.
It's only good if it works., Amazon

Summary: We bought this printer on its high recommendation as a resource to keep a paperless home office. It's strong points are that the ink seemed to last for a long time compared to other printers we have had. It can facilitate organization of scanned files pretty well. MOST of the time it works well to communicate the scanning, but we have had some trouble losing the wireless communication and then trouble resetting that up.
Summary: After having two other brand printers die in a short timespan (about 2 years) I decided to upgrade to a office level printer for my home office. I did extensive research and decided on the Lexmark Office Edge Pro 5500. When printing textual documents the quality is the best I have ever seen. When printing graphics not so much. More than good enough for home or small office use, but as one review stated you might not want to print sales brochures on it.
Summary: This double-sided scanner kicks the pants off of my prior HP printer. The only downside is when I scan large documents, the file size of the output is still pretty large, making it difficult to e-mail. And, yes, I have changed the scan settings from image/photo to lines and text or text only. I looked at Best Buy, Office Depot, read tons of tech reviews, and feel very good about this purchase.
Summary: This is my third Lexmark printer and my second All-In-One. The first such printer - Prestige 805 printed well and quietly, both text and photos. While opening it to change an ink cartridge, the scanner deck which sat on top of the cartridge and print head access deck flipped open and broke the plastic hinges supporting those decks. The printer still worked fine but scanning and copying functionality was lost so I replaced that printer with this one.
Summary: The Lexmark OfficeEdge Pro5500 printer has been a great addition to my home. The printer was easy to set up and remains a very quick printer. I especially like the automatic 2 side printing (saves paper) and the ability to scan documents to e-mail addresses without a computer. The only issue with the misnamed SmartSolutions which is neither smart nor a solution to anything. The printer refuses to update the smart solutions which start at the Lexmark web page.
Great value for the money, solid choice for small business
Fair review, Amazon

Summary: After reading many recent reviews, all which agreed this was an outstanding printer I decided to try this printer. Some reviewers did not all give this an overall high rating, mainly because at the time of the reviews it was priced at 40% above the HP and Canon similar inkjet options at 400 dollars plus. However, in side by side comparisons this printer was generally rated better for most features, it was just thought by the reviewers to be too expensive.
Summary: Everything works fine, especially "smart solutions" are nice feature but ADF distorts documents scans. This was a reason I had to return this printer. Hopefully next one will work as it should be.
Sehr Schade.
