Summary: I really wanted this thing for the Fax capability plus some simple scanning. It wouldn't connect to the network at all. Then because it was a snowy, nasty weekend I decided I would give it another shot. After setting it nearly on top of my wireless router and installing and uninstalling the software about three times, I managed to be able to see it on my network. I also could print from applications not provided by Lexmark.
Summary: Wireless scanning will work for a while, then fail miserably. Do you enjoy messing with firewalls, reinstalling drivers, etc., etc.? Me either. Seriously a terrible product with sub par documentation.
Summary: Lexmar X9350 The worst printer i ever had Because 1. It never worked properly 2. During two years I had i have reinstall software at least 10 times for various reason 3. color cartridge does not last more than 50 Pages 4. network connective issue wireless as well as wired. 5.
Summary: Horribly written Mac software; pales in comparison to the Windows edition. Moreover, the scanner is hideous. I just scanned 8 letter-sized pages to a .pdf file. The file size is 231 megabytes! Plus, the image quality is mediocre at that. The document feeder does not feed; you are the one feeding the pages, one-by-one. The wifi technology and setup is abysmal. There is nothing good I have to convey about this machine. BUYER BEWARE!
Summary: We have 3 laptops in the house, two running XP (a Dell computer that belongs to my company and an IBM/Lenovo, belonging to my husband's company), one running Vista (an HP that we use at Home), and NONE OF THEM WORK with this device. Too many problems to list all of them, but I'll start with a few: - SCANNING: Wireless scanning DOES NOT WORK.
Summary: I don't normally submit reviews for items, but this thing is such a piece of junk I felt compelled. I have never been able to get the WIFI to work nor the LAN connection. Granted, I did not tinker with it too long, but how hard should this be? The WIFI claims that my router signal is too weak, even though my laptop doesn't have a problem connecting!
Summary: Update 1/7/2011 A month ago I bought a canon MX870 multifunction printer. Now that's how you make printers. as much as I hate the Lexmark I love the canon. it works like it should and no frustrations. It cost me half the money. I know it is 3 years later but the lexmark was so bad it has no excuses there is enough bad reviews here that I don't need to repeat the same comments, so I'll be short, we have 3 macs around the house and an airport extreme based network, so I...
Summary: I bought this printer specifically because of the wireless connectivity. After setting it up, the wireless connection failed within a few days. I set it up again, and it failed again. I did this several times, including with the assistance of Lexmark's support, and it just kept on failing. So I gave up on the wireless, relocated the printer, and set it up as wired ethernet printer. That worked--for a while. Then the wired connection failed too.
Summary: this printer is garbage. in fact, every printer i've ever owned under $400 was garbage. forget printing on envelopes. anything other than 8.5" x 11" in fact. this printer is slow, it's scan quality is terrible, it's extremely difficult to figure out the menu when trying to adjust fax settings. BIG waste of time AND money!
