Summary: Ownership since June 2010 (today's date November 2012)
Pros: Looks great, touchscreen, prints fast, easy to set up, wireless, 3 year warranty.
Cons: Drains ink!!! Even when it's selected to print black only, it still uses cyan. Right now, black and cyan are almost gone, but magenta and yellow are almost full. Printhead needs to be constantly cleaned.
Summary: However, the lexmark customers service picked up the phone in seconds, said they'd send out a new bucket and new ink within 1 to 2 business days and would increase the warranty from 1 year to 3 years.
Pros: Stylish, app type interface. Inexpensive.
Cons: There are long load times when you navigate to portions of the LCD menu. The boot up means time to make a cup of coffee. The bucket holding the ink cartridges apparently has a known issue. You'll know if it's the old version if you take the bucket out of the printer, and flip it upside down. If y...
Summary: I purchased this printer the other day to replace my Lexmark X74. The X74 printer still works perfectly (in WinXP), but will not work with the new Windows 7 OS. There is no new driver available for it.
Excerpt: With work now I need a few printers and this is due to my company requesting me to use a Lexmark as they believe they are more user friendly. Out scouting around this Lexmark Interact S605 was on a decent offer and it appealed to me as it offered everything I would need.
Excerpt: well this printer had an array of tools from easily copying too accessing the internet to share photos and other little gadgets which you can explore. whats more the printer comes with built in WiFi as you can printer from loads of computers at the same time. Sounds good doesnt't it.
Pros: many tools and fantastic printing . wifi capable and access internet on the printer also .
Summary: The quality of the printing is good but there are two things which annoy me about this printer. Firstly, every time I print after turning on my computer, a message pops up saying "Unable to Communicate with Printer". I am then advised to turn off the printer and then turn it back on again.
Summary: Sturdy printer that produces good quality prints reasonably quickly. Doubled sided printing is useful. The ink it comes with did not last long, and replacement ink - black and 3 colours came to about £60!
Summary: The cost of replacement cartridges is very high and they don't last long and I haven't yet seen alternatives that work. I bought a £5 Tesco Lexmark refill set with 3*30ml bottles of black ink. On opening the package it clearly wasn't designed for the S605, but I needed to print.
Summary: I bought the printer in March based on a Sunday Times review, which suggested a black ink cost of around 1p. I have now learned to my cost that ink usage is much higher. I have been in discussion with Lexmark and they pointed me to a yield table on their website that indicates 170 pages per 100 size...
Summary: This is my first Lexmark printer. First impressions was that it has good features and good value. However, I was wrong. The rate it gets through the ink is unlike any of the printers I've had previously (I never print in high quality either).
