Summary: Happily, I discovered this printer works with a WIN2000 computer. I also discover they have the 100 series ink cartridges at many of the local stores. Yes, they cost $12.99 for each (color). Annoying: The printer prints with all colors for black. However, you can adjust this with the printer properties to just use black ink.
Summary: have dealt with some pretty bad, and sometimes despotic technology over the years, but this one takes the cake. it will not let you print ANYTHING if a cartridge is low, and you have to buy ONLY the expensive lexmark cartridges, and they don't last at all.
POS Printer with Crap Ink Set Designed to take Your Money

Summary: I am pissed. Not too long ago, I bought two 100XL black ink cartridges because 99.9% of my most recent printing has been all in B&W (+ the original color ink that came with the printer went out after like 10 pages ). Then, right now, after trying to print out Lecture Notes for my FINAL EXAM in two days, this P.O.S. printer tells me: "Printer will not print until the cyan cartridge is replaced" It literally will NOT print ANYTHING until I buy another cyan cartridge.
Great for printing blank sheets of paper and test pages

Summary: This printer worked great for about one month. After that...it was like the "Printer From Hell". - Consumed ink faster than advertised. I replaced printer cartridges (Lexmark brand) 3 times in the second month. After that there was some firmware update to fix this issue...but it was only made known AFTER i contacted Lexmark support. I had registered the printer when i first bought it...couldn't they have notified me?
Summary: I wish I would have read reviews on this beast before buying it. It seemed like a good deal so how could I pass it up? I absolutely should have. Everyone's reviews are completely accurate in saying this is the worst printer ever. I am NEVER able to print one page without a problem -- turning it off, turning it back on, checking settings, cleaning the print head, etc. Its unbelievable.
Printers usually suck, but this one takes the cake

Summary: I've gone through a lot of ornery printers in my life, but this one is the worst. I seriously spend 20 minutes of unplugging, replugging, deleting drivers, reinstalling drivers, wireless on wireless off before I can make it print. Every. Single. Time. I don't understand how they could build a product that doesn't do what it is supposed to do a good 60% of the time -- that is, even with a fair amount of computer expertise I often just give up trying to make it work.
Summary: I purchased this printer about a year ago. I have historically used HP printers but thought I would give Lexmark a try. Wireless printing was not the most reliable and after several months of use the printer stopped printing because it said the black cartridge was low. I replaced the black cartridge and when one of the color cartridges went low it would not even allow printing in black and white.
Summary: This printer only works best if you print in black ink only. Add some color to your paper and it becomes a complete mess. I needed to make 6 copies of a 2-page form with a red banner on top and the rest was black ink. Every other red banner had thick yellow lines running right in the middle of the banner. The only solution I found was to clean the printer head in between EACH copy.
