Cheap Plastic used in page loader but it prints well
30 August 2014
Summary: Prints well but the plastic loader is cheap and flimsy and the clip has already broke off after 4 uses to keep it in place. thank God for super glue and duct tape from preventing me from sending it back.. Still waiting to see how many pages I get from the original cartridges.
Summary: We received the printer in a timely manner. It took us a while to figure out where we were going to put it, so we just opened the box yesterday (3/4/14). I was disappointed that there was no disc with the driver/software in the box, although it was shown on the paper inside to be included. I did not contact the seller, because I downloaded the file from the internet.I would just say to be sure to check the box when you get it.
Summary: Quote from Lexmark Support: Apple does not allow us to develop scan software for Mac OS. This applies to all Lexmark Multi-Function devices. There is a cumbersome workaround via the Apple Image Capture Application, but only via USB. It certainly does not work over the network (which is what I bought this machine for). Printing works fine. To conclude: simply stay away from all Lexmark MFP devices if you own a Macintosh.
Summary: Performs as good as other brands, reliable, clear directions, and setup. Like most printers, one has to consider the toner cartridge replacement cost. The cost is less than $40/cartridge x 4, however, with a color laser; you need to consider the developer replacement cost too. A one-time replacement of the toner, developer, and toner waste bin would cost as much one printer (~$400).
Excerpt: No instruction booklet included. PDF file only. On-line information is not clear on the set-up and use of the product. A clear direction for double-sided printing would be helpful. Wireless option would improve networking. Enlarged display screen would be helpful. (Why so small in comparison to the size of the machine?) It would also be nice if the printer cable was included with the purchase of this high-end product. Not for the faint of heart!
Pros: Good print quality
Cons: Difficult To Set Up, Expensive Ink Cartridges, Hard To Use
