Summary: The printer works great....the issue is installing the software is so difficult. ..would not recognize it on my laptop or desktop with windows ....finally after 5 times of installing then removing and reinstalling it worked...until I had to reset my modem then it wouldn't work. .gave up and called professional to install. ...took him 3 hours.
Summary: As this deveice is mult-function I will rate each as I see it. I am not your regular user as I have been an IR Pro fr over 20 years and have been certified to repair printers and other IT devices. Here we go... Printing: + The printer works fin if not a bit slow - The printer has more noise than most other printers, even in sleep mode. + The image printed is acceptable - The printer can not handle large print jobs. It very hot and then the page start jamming.
Summary: I have had this device for over a year. I would recommend other brands. When the unit works, it works, but when you have problems, the Konica support is horrible and is catered to their high dollar business customers. The toner is expensive and hard to find and very problematic to replace in the machine. Their drivers are dated and they are slow to add drivers for newer versions of windows and do not have drivers for Win8.
Summary: I bought one for the office and one for the house about a month later. When they worked out of the box the prints were fantastic. I never saw that quality ever again. The one at the office did pretty good and still does mid to good if you constantly take care of it but who wants to have to do that? The second one I bought for the house worked for about 2-3 months and just nothing but trouble ever since, streaks in the paper, toner cartridges not working right.
Summary: We've had this printer just over a year in a light-use office setting. It is great when it works, but has been a lot of trouble for us. Here are the main problems: 1. Would continually jam in the fuser unit, especially with heavier paper. Regular paper jammed 25% of the time, thick stuff 90%. Tech support was ultimately helpful and shipped us a new fuser. Still jams more than it should but mostly ok. 2. Does not print at proper scale with some applications.
Summary: This is a good printer, however, the inks lasted from mid-February until April with very low usage. So, expect to shell out $400-500ish for the OEM or $200 for the compatible toners almost immediately. It would be cheaper to buy another printer and throw the old one out. Nice way to fill up the landfills, Konica. We bought 2 of these and they both squeak and squeal like mad when printing, and they both are being retired soon after less than one year of usage.
Excerpt: I bought this to use with my new Mac after doing the research and finding out it was "mac-compatible." However, the scanning function through the Image Capture software launched automatically with no options and would not save to any file on my computer - it just disappeared every time. The customer service people at Konica Minolta, some of whom were very nice, told me that using the Mac software to do a scan was a software problem and I should call Mac.
