Summary: I bought this brand new in August 2009. It NEVER worked right to begin with. The printing was wavy on about every third or fourth line. It was especially noticeable on the draft print setting, but even the best quality printing was wavy. I bought it as my home printer for law school.
Summary: When I unpacked the printer, I noticed that the power cord was loose on top. In fact the power cord had the wrong plug to connect to the power adapter. When I called the company that had shipped the printer, they insisted that the printer was brand new but they could not provide the proper power...
Summary: I bought this for my wife since I'm a Kodak shareholder and have been rooting for them to succeed as a company ever since they missed the boat on the conversion from film to digital and have been struggling to find a purpose for existing.
Summary: Kodak's plan to go against the industry and get a fair price for their printers, while not gouging the public for ink prices was a good one. But they have failed. I have two 5500 AiO's, (top of the line a couple of years ago. They don't work most of the time.
Summary: I would not recommend this printer. We've had it for only 20 months and hardly used it at all. Then we got an error message about a paper jam. There was no paper jam and nothing would clear the message, even after talking to tech support for over an hour we could not solve the problem.
Summary: This is a terrible product, just awful. I have had mine for about a year and it has been nothing but trouble. The printer drinks up ink and even when a cartridge is brand new, it gives you an error code saying that a new cartridge is needed. The scanner works reasonably well . . .
Summary: I have owned many printers and this is the worse piece of garbage I have ever seen. Every time I turn it on it messes up. New out of the box the printer head was no good. It took a week to get a new head sent and to be able to even try the printer. That was August 6, 2010.
Summary: Kodak says that you save money on ink cartridges. You spend half as much per cartridge because it contains half as much ink and you need to replace the cartridge twice as often. It also malfunctions often - says that printhead is not present when it is - starts printing with the second sheet rather...
Summary: Don't get sucked into the "Save on ink" argument. The thing has had countless reliability problems. In under 18 months, I've had to replace the printer head and had 5 separate firmware upgrade issues because it either stopped working entirely or printed out garbage.
Summary: This printer will take a long time to think about printing before it actually prints. In addition, it will wake the house up as it is so loud. And just forget about being able to print anything other than the default paper settings it has programmed.
