Literally the worst all-in-one printer/scanner I've ever used! Stay away!
2 June 2013
Summary: First I would like to say, I've never written a review before, but this all-in-one printer is so awful I just had to warn others. I bought this product on sale, it was less than $100 and seemed like a good deal for an all-in-one. Right from the get go I could tell Kodak was trying to really squeeze every dime they could out of their customers.
Excerpt: I had a Lexmark X73 that worked fine for the 8 years I owned it. The only issue I had was the price of ink cartridges. Then I saw an ad for the Kodak ESP series. I was instantly drawn in by their promise of cheaper ink catridges that delivered the same amount and quality of prints as other printers. What a crock. Within 2 weeks the paper catch broke. Then, even when printing black only documents, my color cartidges were emptying as fast as my black.
Excerpt: If you print in black and white, do not buy this printer. B&W printing uses more color ink than black. Both cartridges need more frequent replacement than in any other printer I've owned. You'll never get a faded print as the printer estimates when you might be low on ink and shuts you down cold until you replace both cartridges. You never reach the bottom of the tanks. The printer is also pricier than others to buy and is more complicated to use.
Excerpt: Worst printer in the world. It started out good, but the ink ran out fast, so I went and bought new cartriges, costing about fourty dollars. After the alignment tests, my new ink cartriges were down to 85%, after 2 tests. I have not printed color pages, but it keeps dropping the level. It jams on just about any print job, skips lines, and will grab more than one page at a time. Save your money and sanity and stay away from this printer.
Excerpt: I recently bought this printer because my old one was completely out of ink. Since Kodak advertises how cheap their ink is, I looked at the store to compare. The price to replace my ink for the old printer was almost as much to buy a new Kodak printer. It was $89.99. Figuring cost savings in the future with ink, I purchased it. It is the absolute worse printer I've ever owned. It takes nearly a minute to print a simple page.
Kodak Printers are not really cheaper like they say!

Excerpt: This Kodak brand printer is not good at all. They claim that the ink is cheaper and lasts longer. Actually it is cheaper BUT you have to buy ink very often. The print quality is bad. EVERY time I use this printer I have to do some kind of troubleshooting. Seriously, EVERY time! I've wrote to Kodak numerous times for help but the only help they give me is the help from the troubleshooting guide.
Excerpt: I was sucked in by a great ad online. In the ad they showed a pile of pages that you could expect some other brand of printer to print on average with their ink cartridges. Then they showed a much, much larger pile that the Kodak Esp3 printer would print with their ink cartridges. Now, this pile looked to be atleast three times larger. To further impress consumers they offer their ink at a much reduced price compared to other brands.
Excerpt: The Kodak ESP-3 printer starts off great at the beginning, but doesn't last long. You get paper jams a lot. The worst part is their claim of cheap ink. What they don't tell you is that the ink is cheaper because there are no printheads on the ink cartridge. Most/all other brands have the printheads attached to the ink cartridge, so that every time you replace your ink you replace the printhead.
Excerpt: I thought that this would be a good purchase last year, but it has turmed out to be a costly one. My biggest complaint is the paper tray size. It is a fraction too small. You can only place one or two sheets of paper in it easily. Try to add any more and it just does not fit. It's as if the paper is too wide.. but I use standard copy/printer paper. The ink runs out too fast as well.
Summary: This is THE worst printer, and one of the worst products, I've ever owned! The ink always jams and you have to clean it with a swab and you might get 4-5 pages until you have to clean it again, and this happens with KOdak cartridges. Horrible, horrible product. It is not surprising that they are finally being put out of their misery.
