Kodak EasyShare 5500 All-in-One
6 March 2008
Summary: Kodak packs a host of features in the EasyShare 5500, but fails to flesh them out sufficiently. We found this all-in-one printer frustrating to use.
Pros: Decent print quality, Built-in memory card slots, Two host USB ports, Dedicated 4x6 photo paper tray, Automatic document feeder, Cheap replacement ink
Cons: Slow prints and scans, No onboard photo-editing options, Relies heavily on included Kodak software for extended feature sets, rather than putting features on the control panel, Can't do anything with the printer if an ink tank is empty, Fax feature set is skimpy
Summary: Kodak deserves credit for its economical inks and focus on photo quality. Unfortunately, these attributes together cannot overcome the Kodak EasyShare 5500 All-In-One's disappointing speed and fairly high price.
Pros: Good mix of photo and office features, cheap ink, automatic duplexing
Cons: Expensive, a little slow, no networking, very expensive
