Summary: Had alot of problem with the cartridge return part. Tried fixing it but it just kept having issues, so had to buy a new printer... I don't recommend this printer unless you use one for a few times a month...
Summary: I bought this printer when it debuted, it prints fantastic photos, prints clear text, and features plenty that have not gone obsolete over the years. However, I was printing artwork for cd and dvd cases, this ran through the yellow chamber of the color cartridge first and quickly since flesh tones and pretty much everything else required yellow, like your photos.
Missing the fax, probably failed to research enough
4 April 2010
Summary: Did not have a fax and therefore couldn't use it. gave it to my son. I'd used this printer, copier and fax before and loved it. Unfortunately when my first one stopped working my efforts to replace it failed to work out. I probably failed to clearly read what the seller wrote about it and have since moved onto another printer, copier & fax all together.
Summary: Even my old HP Wal-Mart flatbed scanner had a larger scanning area. Sometimes I need to scan images (photos) that are 11X14 which is the size I usually shoot. I shoot a lot of pictures with film cameras. The scanning is a little slow, the printing especially with color photo paper and at higher resolution is v. slow. My next printer will definitely be larger scanning area, also good for scanning open books.
Summary: I bought this printer in May 2005 to replace an HP Deskjet 960C. The 960 was a very solid printer, and had very good quality prints for a 4 year old printer. The photo quality of the 960 was equal or better than the new 2355. However, I wanted a muli-function printer with photo-preview and proof functions as well as memory card slots, and I liked the HP reputation, so the 2355 was my choice.
Summary: This printer prints quality images, but the time between when I click print and the time the first page spits out is horrendous. That's my biggest beef with this printer. The scan quality can be grainy at times, too. Within six months, my color cartridge failed. The machine started telling me that the color cartridge inserted was the wrong cartridge type. I hadn't changed it, so it was obviously an error.
Summary: HP hardware is generally good stuff- lasts a long time, does a excellent job, and looks nice. The HP PSC 2355 is no exception. The quality of the printing is top notch, it is very intuitive to use, and image slots as well as screen are useful features. I especially like the fact that the print-head is built into the ink cartridge.
