Even if you are only doing black and white printing ...
24 December 2014
Summary: Even if you are only doing black and white printing it will make you change the color cartridges. Even if you use the option to get around this it and they are never used it will make you change them because "the date has expired". You are printing out something late at night that is black and white and it will refuse to do it because it wants you to change a color cartridge. It is almost as though this was planned to make your life difficult.
Summary: I wish I could give this machine 0 stars. Even though it *was* printing well, it has now stopped. I only want to print black and white at the moment, but it refuses to print anything, even black and white, when it says that one of your color ink cartridges is out of ink. I find it odd also that it says magenta is out of ink when I have only printed black and white for a long while now and no matter how much I shake it or clean it and replace, apparently all the ink has...
Summary: This printer is horrible - don't buy it! Instead of printing it constantly tries to sell you something (more software, more ink, etc) or runs all sorts of weird jobs, so you have to wait 10-15 minutes every time to get it to do anything! If one cartridge runs out of ink, even though there is still plenty of black ink, it does not let you print even regular text! Sometimes it recognizes the generic cartridges and sometimes it does not.
Summary: I can't tell you how many times I have had to go and buy a pink or light blue ink cartridge just to print a black and white page of writing. If it is out of one pigment the printer will not print so one must go and buy the color even if it is an obscure color not being used. It always happens at the worst times. I highly regret buying this printer.
Summary: This printer never worked the way I had hoped. The wireless capabilities were limited, the scanner was not easy to use, and worst of all when it was time to change the ink I spent $100 on ink and after I installed the ink a fatal message appeared on the screen and the printer never worked again. HP would not take the ink back unless I purchased another HP printer (which I will not) even though the ink had never been used. Bad bad buy!!! I will never buy HP again.
You'll spend more time fixing paper jams then printing documents

Summary: This printer is a prime example of why I dislike HP products. The only reason it's even attached to my computer is it was my girlfriends. As I use it more for resume print outs and, being an EMT and keeping up with continuing education, I use it about 83% of the time more then she does. I can see why. The ink is expensive, for starters. Not only does it cost more then the competition, it sucks ink like it's a tic on a femoral artery.
Summary: I have had nothing but problems with this printer. It either jams or goes through it's little "cycle". As another reviewer said, the cycling it does is NEVER when you're not using it but right in the middle of a print or as soon as you hit the print button. Why can't we set it on a schedule for it's cycling? Seems like that would be an easy fix for HP. I just replaced this HP for an Epson and am hoping for better luck with that brand.

Summary: I have had numerous color ink-jet printers over the past several years and I have submitted to the fact that they really only last about a year. There are up to 5 PC's networked at our house and I wanted to get a network printer instead of dealing with the hassle of a "shared" printer. This printer had to be manually configured since the wizard never seemed to work well. (I tried DHCP and Manually configured IP.
