You Can't Go Wrong Here
18 October 2008
Summary: Comments about HP Photosmart C5180 Multifunction Printer: You just can't go wrong here. IT is multi-function and for only [$]! This is just absolutely the perfect machine for a small home office when you need to do copying, scanning, etc.
Pros: Compact Design, Durable Construction, Easy Setup, Easy To Use, Fast Operation, Reliable
Summary: This is the 2nd HP printer I've purchased: the first was an 820Cse Professional Series, which is still working well after 10 years! Have been using this new product for 6 weeks and so far, its working pretty much as I hoped. Perhaps a tad noisy, but not a problem for me.
Summary: I like the printer, it was sent by slow mail but was here in only three days. I am happy with it, I like that the buttons are on front so I can have it on a shelf and not have to get over the top of it to see what I am doing. The software is not so good.
Summary: Like I stated earlier, all around well designed printer. ~~~~~~~Newegg rocks!~~~~~~~
Pros: Clean looking design. Ive used this printer for photos (4x6, 8.5x11) CD labes, shipping labels, copies, and basic printing. All around great results. Stand alone editing features on the printer like auto fix, crop, and borders. Ease of use!
Cons: Saving scans to the PC isnt hard, but looking at them sure is. Pretty nasty quality compared to my older Cannon scanner, but it does scan. Ink levels in software arent anywhere near accurate.
LAN software probably flake - reply to doubleAron1988

Summary: Note to doubleAron1988 - Your problems running the printer through the LAN sounds just like the trouble I had, when it works, it's really cool, but it's way too flaky requiring regular reinstall. Stick with USB.
Pros: If it's anything like my HP Photosmart 3210, then it's a good machine except. The Visio ink on HP 4x6 photo paper yields virtually waterproof photos.
Cons: On regular paper moisture smears the ink easily. HP has not tested the LAN software enough (connected through a router). I finally gave up on LAN, USB works fine. As with all inkjets, ink is expensive.
Summary: This is an awesome printer for the price. It prints photo quality everytime, whether you are printing a high quality image or just doing everyday printing, it all looks great. The scanner is one of the best I have ever owned.
Summary: would be nice if the settings saved themself! Otherwise great Printer.
Pros: Fast printer - on everyday quality (which is standard). Great picture printing, and great boarderless printing. I use the USB and Ethernet connections. USB is great, and the Ethernet is nice to share without having a computer on to share. Scanner and copier is great to have all in one.
Cons: Settings never save themself. Every time I want to scan, I have to change the quality and the folder to save. It gets annoying. I had to download the VISTA Drivers from HP cause they are not included on the CD. For some reason when printing through the network, the printer would not work. After u...
Summary: Besides a few setbacks this has been a great printer, especially after having a cheap printer for several years. It uses the 6 individual inks and has built in network capability. Would recommend using different photo editing/managing software other than what HP gives you.
Pros: The quality of the prints is very good, it was very simple to setup on my network and it is a lot faster than my old printer. I haven’t used the scanner much but I am pleased with the quality of the photos and documents that I have scanned. Has individual color ink cartridges and doesn't seem to ...
Cons: Photo tray doesn't always load correctly. Tech support (which wasn't all that bad) said that I have to manually tell it to print from the photo tray instead of leaving it on auto-select and so far they were right. Like others have said it is loud, some photos look flat and too dark (but that coul...
