Frequently on the fritz
19 September 2013
Summary: This printer was complementary with my Apple computer just over three years ago. It's lasted more than three years, and worked fairly well and consistently for the first year or two. It printed fine with the USB cable and scanned and copied well. It's not a laser-jet, but it printed fairly quickly, too. The software that comes with it was easy to use. However, about a year and a half or two years in, it started fritzing out.
Summary: This printer came as a promotion with an iMac I purchased about a year and a-half ago. I believe I ended up paying about $50 for it with the rebate, and believe me, it's not worth anymore than that. It was hard to set up, but it did work for me for nearly 1 year. The first time it broke down was within the first year, so I called HP and they helped me reconfigure this fragile thing, and it worked for another 5 months. Then it started beeping and not feeding paper.
Summary: I've had this printer for a few years now (came with a computer I bought), used it through grad school and using it in a home office. The three largest issues are the poor wireless connection and difficulty to impossibility of getting it to connect to wireless networks. The associated HP massive bloatware that comes with it is atrocious as well. The final thing is the rapid consumption of ink.
Summary: Like others I bought it as part of a "deal" when purchasing a Mac. Am so disappointed with Apple, because it feels like they polished a bad product to help hp get rid of it. During the past 2 years, I've had difficulties with the wireless and scan functions, but the ink fiasco is the worst part. The first cartridges locked up and wouldn't work after a few months.
Summary: This is the worst printer. I have a macbook, it connects, but... it only prints stuff whenever it feels like it. Also, runs out of ink CONSTANTLY! and the colors suck! I have not printed out one quality color picture whether it be from pages or an actual picture. I always want to just pick it up and throw it outside, or smash it.. call it anger issues or whatever, but this printer makes me SO MAD!
Summary: After one year of use hard wired to an iMac, this printer/scanner/copier is a disappointment. It's plain unreliable. In its defense I'll say I got what I paid for, having taken advantage of a "sale" below $100.00. Why am I disappointed? Mainly because it persistently tells me it's out of paper when in reality there are scores of sheets snuggly pushed in... because it too often grabs single sheets and mangles them, requiring unjamming...
Summary: I bought this printer came without cartridges. I bought cartridges separately, works ok. i dont use printer that much so it is good enough to print and make copy once in a while. Its good for home.
Summary: Good luck scanning unless you have fresh ink cartridges!! This is an okay printer but when we tried to refill the ink cartridges at costco and reuse them the printer gave some very useful information such as "printer cartridge error". We tried for hours and none of the online help worked. I interpret "printer cartridge error" as "how dare you try and save money and/or the environment and not pay HP 50 dollars for new ink!!?
Summary: This printer stopped working for me a year after purchase, so no chance for warranty. It's a power problem: power button refuses to turn on the printer. And the website offers no relevant solution aside from unplugging the plug and resetting the power. While working, I liked the printer for the most part. Manual refilling was a pain.
Summary: The whole reason I bought this was for the wireless printing. It is almost impossible to get it to work, as you have to leave the printer on once it has connected. Hello HP I use this at home and I only print something a few times a month so I am not leaving it on all the time.
