Not worth your time or money!

Excerpt: I purchased this printer/scanner for my mother on her birthday about 2 years ago. It seemed like a great idea that she could scan, print, and fax all from one machine. It literally took us about an hour to set the device up. The instructions might as well have been in spanish. My mom is not the most computer literate person out there but I figured if I assisted her, it should be a piece of cake. Not the case.
Excerpt: I bought HP PhotoSmart C4780 all in one inkjet printer about six months ago. It was a good price and worked great at first. It has been so convenient to have a printer, scanner, and copier all in one machine. However, my machine has a mind of its own. I frequently have to turn it on and off because all of the lights will start flashing and won't work.
Excerpt: We have been very disappointed in this printer. It has been hard to believe that HP marketed a printer that doesn't function as it should. We have had numerous problems with the printer falling off of the wireless network and having to go through the reinstall process quite often. HP has put out an update since the release of this printer that was supposed to correct the problem but it didn't.
HP PhotoSmart C4780 All-In-One InkJet Printer not impressive

Excerpt: HP PhotoSmart C4780 All-In-One InkJet Printer not impressive. The ink runs out in like after 10 pages. The scanner stops in the middle of scanning, so all your effort would be wasted if you are scanning multiple pages. The customer service is bad. The printer broke as soon as I first trying to scan something, after many tries of contact customer service they sent me a refurbished one, and the reburbished one works ok but not 100 percent.
Summary: I bought this printer came without cartridges. I bought cartridges separately, works ok. i dont use printer that much so it is good enough to print and make copy once in a while. Its good for home.
Summary: This is a good printer for the price. However, although it comes with wireless functionality, you shouldn't use it. It will "brick" your printer, and only a pain in the butt firmware update will fix it. The wireless functionality was the only reason I had purchased this product. Now, I am just glad I have it working after the LCD on the printer was frozen for a few days and it would not scan.
Summary: Bought it because auction price was low. Ink is very expensive. Software will not work on Win2000. I would be angry if I had paid normal price. As it is, I am disappointed, but ameliorated by the low auction price. I have two older hp printers and I expected better from this one.
Summary: I drive a truck and was looking for a multifunction printer to save space. I saw the F4580 which is basically the same thing in the store, got it and thought all i needed plus wireless. Got onto my truck, plug into my inverter and the adapter doesn't power on. Took the adapter inside a truck stop to a wall socket and the adapter turns on. Contacted HP and they confirmed that it requires a wall or an expensive Pure Sine Wave inverter. :(.
