Summary: When this printer works, it's fine. Unlike some people, I had no trouble setting up wifi, and that's a real treat. I do hate the fact that you can't change the default setting to A4, and so have to do this every single time you print. What's really annoying about this printer, which I've had for about a year, is that it's really prone to paper jams. Worse is that it's really hard to clear them. This morning it's chewed up a piece of paper.
Summary: the wireless is a royal pain in the *rse to set up, also i have found that scanning is a nightmare (i am using mac osx snow leopard 10.6.2 - it may well be fine on other os versions!) other than these two problems the printer is fine in terms of print quality, ink consumption, etc; however based on this product i wouldn't buy another hp printer again.
Can't change default paper sizes to anything other that Letter!

Summary: The printer's nice. Build quality's good. Print quality's good. Setup and wireless seem to work perfectly for me with two notebooks running Vista. BUT! As soon as you try to edit the default print options the whole thing comes unstuck. HP has helpfully pre-programmed a handful of printing shortcuts / settings that you can select quickly when printing -- General Everyday, Draft, etc. They're all set to Letter, and you can't change them to A4.
Summary: I am on my second of these printers now, the first one died and HP replaced it. I have no problems with that side of the service, my problem comes with the new one almost every time I use it getting a paper jam. I have followed all of the solutions to try and solve it and still it keeps happening.
Summary: I purchased this printer about 6 months ago. The good news- this is extremely affordable printer, has good quality printing, photos look good, device looks good and has a compact size (one of the few models to fit on my shelf), very good features. The bad news- the software packaged with it is truly diabolical. Running the CD that came packaged with the printer installed a vast amount of garbage on my computer.
Summary: I use this on a home WiFi network with a Mac and two Windows XP laptops. It is a complete nightmare to set up and configure. There is no option simply to install the drivers - instead it installs gigabytes of software to do things like manage your photo albums. No thanks. Installation takes about 20 minutes if you're lucky and it goes perfectly, 2 hours if you've got 30 years of IT problem-solving experience, probably a lifetime if you're a normal person.
Summary: I was pretty happy with this printer when I first got it. Looked nice, relatively easy to set up and, most importantly, had decent print quality. However, after about 2 months, the paper feeder decided to stop feeding paper into the printer, leaving me to push the paper through manually. This was, unsurprisingly, a real pain in the backside. I took it back to the vendor and was able to choose a replacement printer. I got the lexmark equivalent.
Summary: This printer looks great but its quite noisy and I had many problems with the printing. It kept going offline Only printed half a page or not print at all Printing was not always central to the page, and it also kept displaying that their was a paper jam when this was not so. Perhaps I had a defective printer as HP are usually so realiable.
