Problems setting up wireless with WPA
Aphrodite Starr, Amazon
22 February 2010
Summary: I bought this originally and had to return it because the ink cartridges would not stay in. The second one resolved this but had trouble with the wireless setup. It would not get past my WPA passphrase. From research I have done this is a common issue.
Summary: I gave it one star but it's not even worth it... I bought this printer and I find my hard drive spinning for no reason. The wireless does not work consistently. I had to manually configure the wireless by adding the printer's mac address to my wireless router and use the I.P.
Summary: The hardware is fine. The software is garbage. The wireless connectivity gets lost frequently, and the scanner function periodically stops working. The only way to fix it seems to be to reinstall the software. I've had to do this literally dozens of times over the last two years.
Summary: I recently upgraded from my trusty old HP 920c, when I decided I wanted a faster, wireless, all in one. I was especially interested when I saw that ink cartridges were half the price of the cartridges my old printer uses.
Sadistic Printer looking for Masochistic Technophile

Summary: I think the title says it all. I was going to write a 'personal ad' for the printer, but decided this piece of machinery wasn't even worth that modicum of creative effort. Just save yourself the time, money, and aggravation and look elsewhere.
Summary: I purchased this printer over a year and a half ago and I have wasted so much time troubleshooting issue after issue. I must have spent 10+ hours during the months after purchase to get it to work.
Summary: I used to love HP printers, I have had them for years, and to this day I don't know why I put up with them for so long. I finally ditched the C4585 for a Canon Pixma and I'm so beyond glad. This printer itself is decent, prints are good, but the software and drivers are an absolute nightmare.
Summary: I bought this all-in-one thinking that HP would not put out a bad product. Boy was I wrong. The hardware may be great, but the software is SO BAD that by the time you get the thing working you hate it. The wireless functionality is VERY DIFFICULT to setup.
