Problems setting up wireless with WPA

Aphrodite Starr, Amazon
22 February 2010
  • Summary: I bought this originally and had to return it because the ink cartridges would not stay in. The second one resolved this but had trouble with the wireless setup. It would not get past my WPA passphrase. From research I have done this is a common issue.

Printer Riddled With Issues...

Darlene Lasalde, Amazon
19 February 2010
  • Summary: I gave it one star but it's not even worth it... I bought this printer and I find my hard drive spinning for no reason. The wireless does not work consistently. I had to manually configure the wireless by adding the printer's mac address to my wireless router and use the I.P.

Software is garbage

Rene Descartes, Amazon
17 February 2010
  • Summary: The hardware is fine. The software is garbage. The wireless connectivity gets lost frequently, and the scanner function periodically stops working. The only way to fix it seems to be to reinstall the software. I've had to do this literally dozens of times over the last two years.

It's an OK printer, but ink is pricey

David W. Darby, Amazon
16 February 2010
  • Summary: I recently upgraded from my trusty old HP 920c, when I decided I wanted a faster, wireless, all in one. I was especially interested when I saw that ink cartridges were half the price of the cartridges my old printer uses.

Worst Printer Purchase EVER!

Scarlett Meadows, Amazon
13 February 2010
  • Summary: There is absolutely nothing wrong with this printer... When it works! If you print more than one document during a session, you have to reboot your PC to get the printer to work again.

Sadistic Printer looking for Masochistic Technophile

Daniel Stern, Amazon
13 February 2010
  • Summary: I think the title says it all. I was going to write a 'personal ad' for the printer, but decided this piece of machinery wasn't even worth that modicum of creative effort. Just save yourself the time, money, and aggravation and look elsewhere.

Worst Printer I Have Ever Owned

ezpeezy, Amazon
9 February 2010
  • Summary: I purchased this printer over a year and a half ago and I have wasted so much time troubleshooting issue after issue. I must have spent 10+ hours during the months after purchase to get it to work.

Printer is Good, Software is not.

Farmers, Amazon
8 February 2010
  • Summary: For the price this is a good wireless printer. I did have difficulties getting it to work with my router during initial installation and the software help was completely worthless.

Save yourself, don't buy an HP printer

bixervixer, Amazon
7 February 2010
  • Summary: I used to love HP printers, I have had them for years, and to this day I don't know why I put up with them for so long. I finally ditched the C4585 for a Canon Pixma and I'm so beyond glad. This printer itself is decent, prints are good, but the software and drivers are an absolute nightmare.

Never - Never - Never Again

Mike, Amazon
5 February 2010
  • Summary: I bought this all-in-one thinking that HP would not put out a bad product. Boy was I wrong. The hardware may be great, but the software is SO BAD that by the time you get the thing working you hate it. The wireless functionality is VERY DIFFICULT to setup.
