Pricey printer ink
9 September 2012
Excerpt: I have a home office and a printer is a necessity! I went out and purchased this HP printer, it had a great price and its size and its all in one features and memory card readers. All functions work like they should however my biggest complaint is that I relay a lot on black and white printing so by the third day of using, I must of have a quarter of ink left and I was using the quick printing option!
Summary: Having owned one of these PSCs for a while now, I thought I would share my experiences. Firstly, HP software is a nightmare... for goodness sake just install the bare minimum of things and don't let it have the free run of your hard drive. It's intrusive and the first time it downloaded an update, it took me three days to sort out the mess.
Summary: This budget printer did the job for a while (though I ended up connecting via USB to my PC as the wireless connection kept hanging), but frequent paper jams and misfeed problems have caused major problems now that it is over 1 year old. I think I might have been better going for a budget laser printer. Print quality is pretty good, though.
Summary: Plus point to start with: its Mac software is completely compatible, integrated, and does what it should. For this reason I would buy another HP device: it is a much better experience than my last Epson. I got this from Apple as part of a promotion (sorry Amazon) which makes its inability to work with my AirPort [Apple-branded] wireless network all the stranger, and more irritating. The device would be recognised, but print jobs would simply fail.
Summary: I've owned this printer for about 18 months and although I found installation quite easy and the quality of the printing etc good, I have had no end of software malfuntions. At first I thought I hadn't done it properly and often kept getting printer error messages. In order to put the problem right I have had to load the software again from scratch.
Summary: What a frustrating morning I had!! I pondered and pondered before deciding to order this item, but the existing positive reviews, confidence in my own computer-literacy and my current financial situation (on the verge of being skint!!) finally helped me to click the button and proceed to the checkout - I ordered and paid for my Photosmart C4380 and couldn't wait to get it. I can't say that I was surprised by the speedy delivery - 2 working days is all it took.
Another product that is fine if you let it think the world revolves around it

Summary: This is an impressive machine at a small prices - lots of fancy functions and it copies, prints, and scans quite nicely. It is also wi-fi and comes with an integrated bundle of software big enough to capsize a boat. The wi-fi capabilities are very limited. After a 20 minute installation (and that was on a fairly fast machine using Vista) it basically needed me to reconfigure my wi-fi. If you do use the printer's wi-fi, the range seems fairly limited.
Summary: Ich habe mir für private Zwecke den Photosmart C438o zugelegt, weil ich meine Fotos gerne in guter Qualität selbst ausdrucken will.
