Beware of this printer

Harris, Amazon
7 July 2014
  • Summary: Never again. Often stops communicating with my computer and needs to be rebooted or reset Also, this printer has a mind of its own, works when it feels like it, and it is very frustrating when you're busy and need it to work. I just cannot tolerate in unreliable printer. I'd rather HP left the wires than be so incompetent with the wireless technology. That's the end of HP for me. Do not recommend.

Buyer Beware

The Doctor, Amazon
24 May 2014
  • Summary: This printer is old and doesn't work as well as HP's newer model first of all. Also they have stopped making ink for it so if you decide to buy this low quality printer anyway because its cheap, better stock up on the cheap ink too. It drinks a lot of it,,,oh did I say cheap. Be careful not to buy too much because it does expire. Secondly, this vendor is dishonest. Save yourself the hassle of buying from them.

Expensive piece of junk.

Thomas Fuller, Amazon
15 March 2014
  • Summary: My C410a literally drinks ink. I have to constantly clean the print heads, which consumes even greater amounts of ink. It will not accept refilled/remanufactured/generic cartridges at all. At nearly 2 years since the date of purchase I received the error message that the "cartridges cannot align" and I can no longer print in black. Replacement printhead costs 75. I have been very disappointed with this printer since the day that I bought it.

Was good, not so good now,

  • Summary: Mavericks and this printer has issues. Worked fine in Lion but now the printer is not recognized in a wireless network, so all the instructions fail regarding how to install. Everything requires the printer to be identified, if its not, your screwed. So, you might want to look at a much new model as this one is several years old.

HP Quality is Very Bad

William D. Williams, Amazon
8 February 2014
  • Summary: My HP printers have never lasted more than 3 years. The C410a literally guzzles ink. I had to constantly clean the print heads, which consumes even greater amounts of ink. Almost three years to the date of purchase I received the error message that the "cartridges cannot align". I looked for a replacement printhead and found thast a rebuild costs $50 and a new one costs $80. I have other printers, (Canon and Brother), that give me far less trouble and use less ink.

don't buy

Jared Carey, Amazon
6 February 2014
  • Summary: I have been very disappointed with this printer since the day that I bought it. Printing from a Mac - you need to make sure you laptop stays connected, otherwise the print will stop. Had to disable UPnP on the printer - as it was freezing up since the HDHomeRun Prime apparently interfered with whatever address this Printer is using.

Worst fax machine in the world

D. zheng, Amazon
31 January 2014
  • Summary: I like many other was seduced by the fact that this machines promises to do it all: print, scan, copy, and fax. In actuality it gives me headaches, wastes my time, and makes me want to cry. Faxing documents of 1-5 pages is massive pain. The feed tray is poorly designed, so paper dosen't feed into the fax properly even for 1 page documents. That often means I have to fax the same page 2-3 times.

Only one star b/c unable to leave a ZERO

HPh8tr, CNET
27 January 2014
  • Summary: Horrible printer. Horrible HP support. This printer is the one that changed me from a die-hard HP consumer to a never again in my life purchase a HP consumer. I had read the reviews and still purchased this printer believing HP could not make a printer as bad as the reviews but I was wrong. Advice to anyone considering this purchase. DON'T do it. Moving on to a Brother.
  • Pros: it offers many options
  • Cons: horrible wireless printer, continuously "disappears" from printer folder, the only fix is to uninstall all software & reinstall, this is the fix given by HP support, scan option from pc quit working and was never able to fixed
