Summary: I have always bought HP printers and liked the features of this one (wireless, double-sided printing, and printing from an ipad). This printer worked well at first but then the problems started. It began printing 2 copies instead of 1, and I installed the HP patch. Then, the colors on photos, etc. were way off when printed, in spite of the cartridges being new. Finally, the color black wouldn't print at all, and it wouldn't go into alignment mode.
Summary: The pros on this printer are its cheap initial cost and good quality output. Unfortunately, the list of cons is considerably longer. It is slow and ink is extraordinarily expensive, traits it shares with many, if not most, inkjets. However, its worst faults are its unreliability and the utter incompetence/indifference of HP to the problems. There is a known glitch that it will not restart after a power failure or brownout.
Summary: I owned two HP Inkjet printers. The second one is C310. Both of them had paper feeder problem after only a few months of light usage. I will never buy another HP Inkjet printer again. The scan function is also problematic.
Summary: We have had this product more than a year now. The photo print quality is very good but the printer is VERY slow to turn on and prints VERY VERY slowly. The ink cartridges do not last very long and are quite expensive to replace. The wireless radio in this printer is of VERY poor quality and frequently drops the connection or cannot connect at all. Other wireless devices located next to it have no problem connecting.
Summary: I purchased this printer not from Amazon but from Best Buy and paid about the same price, but you definitley get what you pay for... The printer works well but wasn't really what I expected when printing pictures, not as good as quality as was advertised and what I thought it would be. Also, ink for this thing goes RIDICULOUSLY fast..
Summary: We bought this printer because it was one of the first AirPrint printers available. It worked great when we got it back in April 2011. Eight months later, the printer stopped feeding photo paper correctly and looking at the statistics panel, we printed a total of 24 photos. Unbelievable. Our Photosmart C6180 lasted 4-5 years and while bringing it in for recycling, it clearly was built like a tank!
Summary: For decades I have enjoyed superb HP printers. My last, excellently constructed, HP5100 All-in-One was very old with outdated software and I needed to replace it with a newer model. So I purchased the HP Photosmart Premium C310A printer. For weeks I was happy. But then Windows 7 updated my Dell 9100 computer and knocked out part of the excellent HP software. While attempting to repair the HP software the tray over the paper dropped off. It took a half hour to replace it.
Summary: As some others I have had similar problems in the past with the wireless side of this unit but since got a new network provider, placed the modem within a meter of the printer and got rid of many of the old HP and Microsoft updates this problem has gone. The quality of the standard B&W or colour print is excellent quality. As for the Photo prints! It is cheaper to go to a shop and have them done for a fraction of the price, and a far better quality. INK!!
Summary: I have to agree with the many poor reviews. Initially the printer worked fine, but problems started to show within 6 months of use. It is uneconomical in its use of ink and I now have an ongoing ink printhead problem that I can't resolve. The price of a new printhead is more than half that of a new printer and in one year I have probably spent three times the cost of the printer on ink and I do not print much. I wish I had spent more and bought a better product.
