Summary: This has been the worst printer I've ever owned, I do not recommend purchasing it. It had difficulty sensing the cartridges, when that happens nothing works. You can't scan, access photos on your memory card, do anything from the menu. It just locks up. And that is using HP cartridges. Mine finally died when the carriage froze in place, no longer moved along the track and stuck under the deck where its inaccessible. Not happy with these cartridges.
Summary: I love this printer - makes beautiful pictures. HP had stopped producing this particular printer and you can't even get a warranty from HP anymore for this model. I have had good luck with this printer but recently had an issue and after calling HP it still isn't really resolved. I have to print every picture with borders. The option without borders does not work anymore.
Summary: I could kick myself for buying this printer. I've had two HP products in the past and was disappointed with both. This one had the features I needed, was on sale, and highly recommended by the salesman. It takes five minutes to warm up, goes off line every other day, won't scan more than one page to a file, and now the feeder pick ups stopped working. That's it. No more HP products, ever.
Summary: I guess my experience was better than most until HP updated the software. Using more ink than I would like but Ink usage is a common issue with most inkjet printers. That is how they make their money. I use it with my Mac running ML using the latest HP software and all is great from a printing and scanning perspective when it works. After updating to the latest HP software to support Mac Mountain Lion the printer now reboots when printing.
