Summary: Takes a few minutes to warm up. Ink doesn't last long, I don't print out color because its a waste, but IDK if I'm doing it wrong or not, but I would print out maybe 30 pages of something, and my ink are about 25% left. but the black is still 75 left. everything is great, but ink is not great.
Summary: I don't think that I have had a color printer that uses ink so fast! Are the cartridges smaller these days (but keeping high price)? Has HP poised themselves to make more profit on ink and offer the printers cheaper?
Great printer if you only print once in a blue moon!

Summary: I would not recommend this printer/all in one.
Pros: Prints quickly enough, pictures look great (when there is enough ink), double sided printing is a very nice feature, fax, scan, copy all work well
Cons: All the positives about this printer/all in one are outweighed by the cost of the ink and the frequency with which you need to replace it! The worst printer/all in one I have owned as far as ink usage and cost
Summary: Good scanner which is why it gets 2 stars. However..... It is a terrible photo printer. Without a doubt, it's the worst I've ever used. Our old, ancient C88 prints better pictures than this thing. Even after using brand new ink cartridges, cleaning the heads and using HP photo paper, the pictures turned out so dismally that it's an embarrassment. I tried calibrating through Photoshop, don't do that, It makes the bad even worse.
Summary: In theory, this is a nice printer. It does a lot of cool stuff, like prints on both sides of the paper, and has an auto-feed copy feature. That's all great when it works. But sometimes, randomly, it decides not to work. It's that simple. No rhyme or reason. It's just totally unpredictable and unreliable. Oh, and the ink is absurdly expensive, and runs out suspiciously fast -- cartridges last shorter than any printer I've ever used. Honestly -- don't buy this thing.
Summary: After years of using Brother and Canon, I wore them out after a few years... so I decided to buy a less expensive almost throw away product. HP had the features I was looking for in this printer. I did not expect the ink to run out so fast, then the cost. So I tried refills at Costco. The printer then complained and in some cases refused to use the cartridge. A common problem is that if you set it up for wireless, it will not wake up for Apple PC's or Microsoft PC's.
Summary: I have had many HP printers in the past and loved all of them and felt I really got a great deal for the money. When it was time to get a new printer I went with HP as usual. This is the first one I am not completely satisfied with. It does a decent job of printing but uses ink so quickly. I buy the XL size cartridges and find they do not last as long as one might expect. The printer seems to an ink hog.
Summary: I bought this because I thought my photos would be even better than my old HP all-in-one with a single color cartridge. I've been disappointed. Shades are just not as accurate. What you see on the computer screen is just not what prints out. Ink cartridges seem to need replacement much too often. And now for some reason with regular printing and copying, plain paper won't pick up consistently and has to be hand fed. Nothing in "problem solving" to correct this.

Summary: This is one of the few printers that has free efax sending so for that I give it a star but barely. You only get 20 faxes a month but that's ok for those of us who rarely fax. Problem is, you can't fax wirelessly, or even with usb. You can print wirelessly so the technology has to be there BUT for faxes - you must print out and fax manually. What a waste of paper and ink - which brings me to my next beef.
Summary: I purchased this printer and the first one had issues with lines in the photos not matter what we did, it wouldn't go away. So we traded it at the store for another one. the second one wouldn't read the ink cartridges. So, once again, we took it to the store and traded for another one. This one worked fine until just after the one year "warranty".
