Summary: Bought in October of 2012. The first time I replaced cartridges I had problems with the printer recognizing the new cartridges. I had to remove and re-install 2 of them a couple times before they would be recognized. The printer worked O.K. for a while. I didn't use it all that much. A month ago I replaced all color cartridges again, and could not get the printer to recognize red. And by the way, I used genuine HP overpriced ink cartridges.
Summary: Black ink quits working when the warranty is over. From all the complaints online it appears this HP printer is made to last a year! It's a disposable printer! That's ok, if that's how you advertise it, but I use to expect HP stuff to be of good quality -not anymore! After 1 year of light use, the black ink won't print. I've done all the 'fixes' and all I've gotten is lots of wasted printer paper and used up color ink cartridges. I'm officially done with HP products!
This printer is known for ink overusage/printhead problems

Summary: If you read any reviews, please read this one. I used to be very please with HP printers up until this model. There are widely known issues with the over-usage of ink with this printer, as well as the print-head clogging and not allowing black to print when it has normal usage. I have disassembled this printer myself and cleaned out the print-head as best as possible, which is almost impossible due to the way that its attached to the cartridge chamber.
Summary: Like 100s of others, my printer failed to print black ink just after it went off warranty. I've wasted much time navigating their opaque website and help center, to no avail. None of their suggested fixes help. I'm not really a conspiracy theorist, but this is very suspicious. At best, this printer is a piece of junk. At worst, HP has some devious plot to make it quit working via their product "updates". No wonder this company is on a downward spiral, they deserve it!
"Worst printer I've had in life. Ink dries immediately."
16 February 2013
Pros: No pros at all that I notice. It is just an ink eater.
Cons: Worst printer I've had in decades. I've spent a fortune on ink. No matter what I try, it prints 3 to 10 pages - often not even photos - and the ink stars drying out. I've bought the ink from 3 different places and it still is just a dog of a printer.
Summary: THis is a review of the HP Photosmart 6510e AIO printer. The printer has worked flawlessly since purchased in May. However, when the cartridges needed replacement recently, I discovered that the HP part number "564" does not necessarily work with this printer. It seems that HP decided to update the cartridge functionality but not change the part number. Therefore, you can purchase the "564" cartridge and it might not work in your new HP Photosmart 6510e printer.
