Summary: This product has a lot of cool features. If only it worked. I replaced our ink cartridges (genuine HP cartridges), and the printer no longer prints black. At all. I trouble-shot the problem using all the recommended methods on the HP website (there seems to be a lot of people having this problem) without any luck. Now my brand new ink cartridges are almost empty from running a few test pages. I feel like I just flushed my time and money down the toilet.
Summary: I realize that quality is not so much the watchword for many products these days, but electronics in general have become so much more reliable these days, that I was surprised that my Photosmart 6510 started failing within 2 years. Although its workings are often noisy, it had some good functions & features I liked - especially being able to replace individual colors.
Never reviewed anything so negatively. Worst Product I have ever purchased.

Summary: Got this new for a pretty good price about a year and a half ago. Now I can see why. This is hands down the worst peace of technology that I've ever spent hard-earned money on. From the start it did things at it's own pace, a direct wireless connection would take about a minute and a half before printing would proceed. It's very loud and causes a good deal of vibration, which is annoying but easily overlookable if it does it's job well... which it doesn't.
Summary: We bought a 6510 last year. Stopped working this year. Stopped printing anything black. Tried ALL the suggested posts to correct and it still doesn't work. Had to buy a new one. Did not replace with a HP.
Summary: When it was 6 months out of warranty, the black ink no longer printed. Customer no-support went through troubleshooting with me and said the only solution was a new printer --- which they were more than willing to try to sell to me at that moment. This printer was used Very lightly for personal use. I will not buy an HP Photosmart again.
Summary: We bought one, it lasted 5 months then wouldn't print black. Notified manufacturer and they sent a call tag then sent us another one. It worked 2 months and again wouldn't print black. It went in the trash and we bought a different brand. Will not buy an HP product again!
Summary: I'm going to try and return as much of the ink I bought and will have to chuck the opened ink. This is a piece of junk printer. It already uses an obsessive amount of black ink but now it doesn't even work.
Summary: Great while it lasted, but like many other reviewers mine failed after just over a year of light to moderate use. The black print head is the weak part of the design or manufacture. Do not buy.
Summary: Pretty sure these are programed to stop working just after one year warranty is up. Everyone seems to have the same problem. The black just stops working. I've tried all the suggestions to fix it, to no avail. Piece of junk. Do not buy.
