Summary: DO NOT BUY THIS PRINTER! I can't begin to tell you all of the problems installing this printer. Most importantly the software downloaded from their site was corrupt. I had to uninstall and reinstall using the CD. But then after finally getting it to work, paper jams, hardly holds any paper in the paper tray and if your lucky you might get a few pages printed before you are out of ink.
Summary: We went through two of these printers in less than a year. We thought that perhaps the first one was a fluke, so we decided (against our better judgement) to get another one of the same model. Surprise, surprise, the second printer died in less than 6 months. With both printers, the printer head started making horrible cracking noises and eventually stopped working altogether. I just got done speaking with HP via Chat (a wayyyy better option than calling).
Summary: As soon as the black cartridge ran out and was replaced, no matter what we did, it would never print balck again! So many forums talking about this problem and HP is NO help at all. Do NOT buy this printer!
Summary: If you have loads of free time to troubleshoot your equipment....go for it. Had to do the realignment and cleaning feature on it over a dozen times to get the print corrected....wasted enormous amounts of paper. It shoots out page after page for no reason after printing...you can wait it out or just turn it off and wait again for it to start back up. I am constantly having to adjust, redo, restart etc to get anything to print.
Summary: I bought this printer at Staples and was told HP printers were really good and fine to use with Macs, etc. I barely used it the 1st year so it took awhile for the ink to run out. I had purchased extra HP ink cartridges when I first bought the printer so when it ran out & I installed the new ones. After this the printer started making a horrible, loud knocking noise after it was done printing.
