Excerpt: Worst Printer I have ever owned. Ink usage is good as is speed. However, color is inferior to laser. Always getting printbar jam or other negative notice. Also when doing a large job the printer grabs multiple pages at one time. I have to baby sit the printer while it is working otherwise I lose the whole job. I have an older HP Laser Jet printer that I still have to use for large jobs. If this was a low priced printer it would be annoying for the price, horrible.
Summary: Just another piece of junk from HP. Stopped working all together after one year. I cant scan nor print. After FIVE HOURS trying to get this thing to work, I give up. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling, no help. HP has a few links to customer support...they go to pages that do not exist. I'm guessing that most of these "AWESOME" ratings found are from paid marketing employees or algorithms (cheaper than paying customer service reps).
Summary: Paid $800 for this printer, Had to call support about once a month to solve some issue it was having. After only 3 months they decided to send us a replacement. The replacement worked great...for a month, now here I am again on the phone with support trying to figure out what is wrong with it. Waste of time and money and we had decided to purchase this model after an older HP model started acting up. DO NOT buy this printer. Actually don't buy any HP printer.
Summary: Very slow, does not print as advertized, awkward software not allowing to smoothly switch between feed and flat. Scanning at 200 dpi is about the same as 100 dpi on other scanners, so you end up scanning at 300 dpi to get a readable copy of text. Makes for large files. Lag before first page is not as advertized. Document feeder jams, especially with double sided originals. I wish I had never bought this thing.
Nowhere near as good as laser - don't let the marketing fool you

Summary: I was sold that this printer competes with laser in it's text and colour quality. I can assure you this is marketing hype. I ordered this printer twice. Once from PCNation (on Amazon), returned, and the second time through the HP website. The one from PCNation bled and smudged when printing on envelopes. So I put it down to the envelopes and printed black and white text only - it was fast and clear. Then I tried to print a colour page with text on colour-filled boxes.
Summary: Although this machine's copy/print functions are great, there are issues with both the facsimile function and (now) the scan function. After being unable to get the facsimile to work (out of the box), I hired a tech person to come to my office to troubleshoot the facsimile function. He did so along with HP tech support on a conference call.
Not Professional, and the top feeder doesn't work.

Summary: Just bought this, and right out of the box the feeder would give jam errors despite there being no paper caught inside. Troubleshot with HP, they offered to replace the top feeder unit, but also the printing was not professional quality. The purple looked significantly different than our screen, laser printers, and reality. Also the resolution was a problem when printing color banner areas.
