Summary: Comments about HP Officejet Pro L7780 Multifunction Printer: Just google hp 7780 and you'll see the same thing over and over again. There are numerous problems - the most common being a printhead error message which disallows you from using it at all. Try calling HP technical and you won't be buying a HP again either.
Summary: Comments about HP Officejet Pro L7780 Multifunction Printer: As a loyal HP buyer (100's of purchases) I was HIGHLY disappointed. It makes me rethink all of the HP products not just printers. Ink cost is unjustified. In addition it requires print heads. They are $50-$75 each and very unreliable. I have low page count on my printer yet have replaced print heads several times. Now the printer mechanics are faulty.
Summary: Comments about HP Officejet Pro L7780 Multifunction Printer: We bought this product for a small office. The only problem with it is the automatic document feeder always jamed or wouldn't take paper. We watched videos and cleaned it and then HP sent us a replacement. The replacement worked better but still the automatic document feeder still will not take paper 70-80% of the time.

Summary: HP support confirms OfficeJet direct digital filing is incompatible with Microsoft Small Business Server 2003. Unsuccessfully tried various work arounds from the web.
If this capability is important to you under Small Business Server 2003, be forewarned.
Summary: I brought this printer for the features - duplex, extra tray, wireless, document feeder. The duplex works really good. The extra paper tray is worthless - is doesn't recognize the extra tray. Get scanner failure everytime I use the document feeder, which means can't fax, copy or scan more than 1 piece at a time. The machine is very noisy and loud. First time any problems with HP product.
Summary: I purchased this from Amazon in march 2009, it being my third HP Officejet. On the positive side, the separate colour ink cartridges are useful and save money. Lots of nagatives. It is extremely temperamental and continually freezes- not responding to any buttons-and has to be disconnected; the warning light that cartridges need replacing starts ages prior to replacement being necessary.
Summary: Take delivery of a lovely looking printer, bristling with capabilities, and you're full of optimism. Set up reasonably easily. Worked well for three months, then started printing with zebra stripes. Printhead problem, replacement printhead was actually also faulty, very unlikely, so HP replace the whole body of the printer under warranty (Note: replacement parts are not new and are only guaranteed for three months).
Summary: I got this printer last year and it worked OK for a good few months. Then trouble started. Scanning failed to work and the HP solution - reinstall the software suite. Great fun! Then after installing XP Service Pack 3 all went pear shaped - mirror image printing, no scanning etc. HP solution - uninstall Service Pack 3. More fun. Now the really good part. I got a new laptop with XP Pro last week and the HP printer installation failed on several occasions.
Summary: I've owned several HP all-in-ones. Previously my verdict was: great features, flimsy build (so: buy it but with extended warranty). But this one has just too many faults. (Read the amazon.com reviews to discover more of them). My experience with the printer: - keeps wanting to reinstal - keeps thinking paper is out on tray 2 - gives up printing complex pages (gives up on the whole job!
